The Dwarfs are marching to war once more from Games Workshop and Black Library are propping up things on the background end of things with the release of Thorgrim coming soon. The Empire aren't to be left out either with their collection coming soon too...

Thorgrim

"In the ruins of the dwarf hold of Karak Eight Peaks, ancient enemies battle for supremacy. Belegar, king of the dwarfs who call that venerable realm home, is assailed on all sides - the skaven Headtaker, the goblin Skarsnik and the orc Gorfang Rotgut all threaten to take his hard-won glory. As gorfang prepares to sweep the dwarfs aside in a final apocalyptic assault, Belegar must swallow his pride and call for help from one dwarf who can break Rotgut's horde: High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer."

The Empire Collection

"The Empire is the largest and most powerful realm in the Old World. Founded by the warrior-god Sigmar, it is built up of city-states and provinces that are now bound together under the rule of the Emperor Karl Franz. Only through the actions of its valiant heroes has it repelled the numerous invasions brought against it. This omnibus edition collects together three tales of heroism and sacrifice focusing on the elite swordsmen of the Empire, the mighty warrior-priests of Sigmar and the powerful war machines of the Engineering College."

Both sound like perfect additions to your Black Library collection. Thorgrim should be great for us lovers of Dwarfs, along with Goblins and Orcs too. Guymer has a good track record of doing the duel perspectives well and it should be interesting to see things from the side of the greenskins.

The Empire collection certainly contains some great books and it's always fun to read about this wartorn area of the Old World. Some great reading for the start of the year.

Which will you pick up?
