Smash Skaven In The Face With Vermintide Gameplay Trailer

Set during The End Times of the Old World in Warhammer Fantasy Fat Shark have shown off some more gameplay from Vermintide which is their take on a Left 4 Dead-esque game. Heroes from the Empire, the Elves and even the Dwarfs (yes!) come together to face off against a horde of skittering Skaven...

The combat is brutal, visceral, bloody and everything else that you would have expected it to be when set in the Warhammer Fantasy world. I love the touches that limbs can come flying off, your weapons seem to have a real weight to them and the Dwarf is also smaller compared to the other heroes so he goes eye to eye with the Skaven.

Fatshark really seem to love their Warhammer so it will be fun to see how this all turns out. I REALLY want to play it!

I’m looking forward to what actually seems to be a good game set in the Warhammer Fantasy setting. With both Vermintide AND Total War: Warhammer coming up, it seems like Games Workshop is finally showing some (well-deserved) love to the Fantasy branch 😀

Maybe they will have a mode down the line which enables you to play as one of the more characterful Skaven ala Left 4 Dead and their versus mode.

What doesn’t look great is the “Warhammer End Times” logo.

More evidence GW are about to ruin their product even more in an even more ridiculous way? I can imagine thousands of people playing this game – if it’s good – as well as Warhammer Total War …. and thinking “maybe I’ll check out the miniature game!” only to be told its been discontinued and no longer supported…
