Devastator is Pow 18 in base but Pow 9 within 3″ (not 2″)
Doom Reaver UA gives Tough and Silence (makes berserk optional)
Doom Reavers are Arm 14 (Most Aoe will needs 7/8) and 6 (+1 for escort) models in a 9″ bubble
They cause abomination…anything within 3″ has to take a command check or flee. Also…Doom Reavers are advance deploy. They’re in the objectives on turn 1.
Tactics: Run up and engage with 1 to 2 of the squad and leave the rest back….suddenly your opponent is having problems. I got two wins at the Welsh Open last year with a very similar list….one without even needing to roll a die….
Well…it can only react to models completing their movement inside 6″ but it can charge its full 9″ subject to legality…..but yeah….I get your point….I heard that but was already hammering out a reply to another point
The tactics for this are pretty much running all the units up; no one walks or marches anywhere. Tough means the first line may be knocked down but then the second line of doomreavers will be able to charge. All you need is one or two doomies to get to a unit and it’s dead.
Fenris does a flanking maneuver and waits for the feat. 6-7 man units of Def 13 and arm 14 doomreavers with tough and spaced out correctly don’t die to aoes. A lot of lists just can’t deal with this especially if their anti infantry is magic based.
Here’s my build for that tier list at 35 pnts.
Kommander Orsus Zoktavir (*6pts) * Kodiak (8pts) * War dog (1pts) Doom Reavers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts) * Greylord Escort (2pts) Doom Reavers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts) * Greylord Escort (2pts) Doom Reavers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts) Doom Reavers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts) Fenris (5pts) Yuri the Axe (3pts)
I prefer the Kodiak just because it need very little support, is focus efficient and has grab and smash to throw things out of objectives. Also remember contesting an objective just means being there, you don’t have to win by scenario; just not lose until you win.
As much as I hate to say it, this vid was a little hard to watch with so many rules being sited incorrectly! That said the list is very viable, doom reavers do way more damage than one might think, and when spammed, it allows some of them to reach the enemy lines. Combine that with E-Butcher’s feat, and it’s absolutely devastating. Not a perfect list and it will have its bad match-ups, but viable nonetheless.
I sent them a phonetic guide to my screen name when I submitted my list I don’t know if they read it, but Darrell got my name right. The only problem I see with the eButcher theme list is that it is very narrow in how you play it as Andy says. It is rock solid when you get to do your thing but you cannot risk using it against someone like pHaley or pIrusk, that shut down the charges. The opponent is forcing you in to your other list when those two are an option so be careful in those situations where your losing control of the matchup.
i know the list isnt amazing but it works. the worst thing that happened i played another khador player with like 4 destroyers and he just kept boosting the roll to hit me and the rest was a blood bath. fenris still claimed 2 destroyer heads for his belt. more importantly the right moment for the feat and ebutcher claimed so much from a 2 squads of mechaniks that fenris took pirusks head. in that game i didnt need the doom reavers they were just a distraction! (not how i planned it but it worked when i started doing it) but i have lost with this. mainly AOE spam in the hands of a smart player.
P.S. i hate the black 13th so much. (long story (not really just a big list of how much hell they caused in a couple turns))
Hi. my first post. here go’s I saw this army in action at the last warmachine tournement and yes it do.s just what it say’s on the box. But at the same time it represents everything I hate about this type of gaming. That is the chance to play flexible armies that can be adapted to different scenarios. not the one size fits all brigade. I know several players who play like this and eventually a bigger geek comes along and bites their ass. They usually talk the loudest and are not in the game to help new people to come along and join in. In fact if you are trying to enjoy the hobby have a laugh and some down time then this is the type of player who will turn you away. ( just my opinion)
So….much….wrong!
eButcher + Doom Reavers is the tier list.

You forgot that the war dog can only countercharge 6″, not 10-12″ as stated.
It is a very good list and very viable in a tournament setting.
Well…it can only react to models completing their movement inside 6″ but it can charge its full 9″ subject to legality…..but yeah….I get your point….I heard that but was already hammering out a reply to another point
I was blinded by my own pedantry!
lol, blinded by your own pedantry, I hate it when that happens!
Miniwargimng.com will show you how to use eButcher properly!
NEVER fails me!
eButcher
2xBeserkers
3 x Doom Reavers + Escorts
Fenris
Yuri
Now thats eButcher tier list that I can stand behind.
mrchom is completely correct.

I have no idea about the rules… I rarely play.
However, Butcher + Doomreavers = a real treat to paint, IMHO !
