Privateer Press have a whole bunch more awesome stuff on the way for you when it comes to Warmachine and it focuses in on Cryx this time a little bit with a side order of Khador. See what you make of the new Cryx All In One Army Box, the Revenant Crew of the Atramentos and Ruin, a new character Warjack for Khador…
First up we have said All In One Army Box for Cryx which comes jam packed with everything you need to get started in the world of Warmachine without much hassle at all. The set contains a thirty five point force alongside the rulebook allowing you to get your head around all the mechanics at the same time…
• Warcaster Wraith Witch Deneghra
• Leviathan Helljack
• 2 Nightwretch Bonejacks
• Bane Riders Unit
• Bane Thralls Unit
• Bane Thrall Officer & Standard Unit Attachment
• Warwitch Siren Solo
Now I’m no expert on Cryx but I do know that a lot of people like Deneghra so that sounds like a good option for a Warcaster. Apart from that I leave it up to you to tell me whether or not this is a good box!
Next up we have the Revenant Crew of the Atrmentous which is an awesome looking scurvy-ridden undead crew set to lurch out of the ocean and bring pain to those on land…
“Deathbound to the Dragon King, the infamous blackship Atramentous and her revenant crew are the scourge of the Broken Coast. The revenants die a thousand deaths in service of the Dragonfather, for Lord Toruk grants them the necromantic power to rise again and the strength to destroy their enemies.”
I love the lead character and, like with most things in Warmachine and Hordes, I think these are things that I’d love to have in my collection just because they look awesome. I think I might start taking that approach with my own Trollbloods. This unit box, it should be added, is no different than the last one but instead gives you a complete unit now.
Last but not least is Ruin, a Character Heavy Warjack for the warriors of Khador. I always loved the idea of character Warjacks and brings me closer to the idea of just playing an all Warjack game and sacking off the Warcasters in favour of some other system for running these guys on the tabletop.
“Ruin is a blend of engineering and black magic, an unsettling fusion that has resulted in a malevolently aware machine. Ruin’s scarred chassis is festooned with powerful Orgoth relics that possess a willful hunger to harvest souls and whisper incomprehensibly directly into the warjack’s cortex. Orsus Zoktavir has been entrusted to exploit Ruin as a weapon for the Motherland, whatever the cost.”
I love that Ruin has trophies from practically every enemy he’s encountered plastered over his armour and I love the Circle Wolf cloak he has draped across his shoulder. I fight Circle a lot so that’s something I’d appreciate.
What do you make of these offerings?
