Nice, but I’d go for a bit deeper/richer shade of both orange/gold and the green. Good, fast work.
I see what you mean… The orange looks a bit dull in the 360° view (I don’t know why), but I assure you it’s much more vivid in person. That said, it is a bit “uniform”.
As for the green… Well, there’s blue in the shadows, two hues of teal, flesh and ivory as highlights… I think it’s rich enough.
Still, you’re right : I think the mini could use some freehand, and a bit more detailing.
I had another look at the videos…it must look better live than in the pictures, true. I think it’s the light that makes it all a bit blurry. Perhaps some Aleph or Panoceania as next Infinity model to paint? A TAG maybe? It might also be fun to see a whole link of troops painted in a uniform color scheme but with some individual highlights to make them easily identified on the table – like a link of 5 Magister Knights. On a side note – seeing your gaming table in the Prisoner Rescue mission video, perhaps a video showing… Read more »
I didn’t build that table… But your message has been heard !
I’ll consider speed-painting rank-and-file Infinity troopers (even if it pains me a little to chain-paint those models) and add it to the list… Thanks for the suggestion !
Watching you paint has been very educational. It’s also shown me you can assemble your models completely and still have the paint jobs come out great.
I think darker background could make the mini looks better. I think this paintjob would look rather nice forthe general faction.
I will probably have to paint it yellow instead of orange but still I learnt quite a bit from you. Thanks alot.
Thanks for this Romain!
I like 🙂
lovely green mantle!
nice very well done and very quick.
Thank you, the 2 videos motivate me to paint my pheaseant so he will be ready for the new imperial reinforcements!
High quality work IMO and nicer than anything I am fielding 😉
Nice, eagerly looking forward for the next one.
I’m awfully tempted to strip and repaint my Pheasant now.
classic orange/green scheme, I like.
I have to paint more… I am too lazy for this world.
good stuff
I think it looks nice considering it only took two hours from start to finish! It usually takes me allot longer to paint up my ALEPH.
The poutches looks a little unfinished and plain, a wash and a highlight would ad depth to them and bring them out a bit for very little extra painting time.
Well, it took a little more than that. There’s some bits that were cut, but not much… But thank you !
Very nice, especially considering the time involved.
Do all paiters got hairy hands or only the one with sence of hummor ??
What I meant is that as mundane is the chore of painting several very similar models, vide WH40K, it requires an art in its own right, to make the models both uniform and differentiate them enough at the same time for them to be easily distinguished on a cluttered table. I’d gladly see what in this respect the BoW team might have to share. Small differences in color shades, little greenstuff additions or some freehand badges or something.
Looks good, I like how the green came out and may try it out however I am partial to my oranges. It may help to attach a mic to Romain as he is talking softer than a certain happy painter.
The queue was a specific male hairstyle worn by the Manchus from central Manchuria and later imposed on the Han Chinese during the Qing dynasty. The hairstyle consisted of the hair on the front of the head being shaved off above the temples every ten days and the rest of the hair braided into a long pigtail. The hairstyle was compulsory on all males and the penalty for not having it was execution as it was considered treason. In the early 1910s, after the fall of the Qing dynasty, the Chinese no longer had to wear it. Some, such as… Read more »
Thank you for the historical details !
Who said culture was absent from gaming ?
I’m almost stunned that you’ve done in so little time so much on the mini. I’m way too slow and even slower to get on with it.
Anyway next time push the volume a little bit more I hardly ear something though it’ seems really intimate like that ^^
While I do like the colors used on this model, I really think that having the armor almost all one color (plus shading and highlights) resulted in a slightly bland effect. The model’s face plate was off-white, but pretty much all the other armor was the same color. I think if just a few more armor plates were given a different color the model would be more interesting looking.
Now to start painting all my Infinity. Thanks for this tutorial.
