IDW Games have a ton of new games with them at GenCon, with the Heroes in a Half Shell themselves, Spongebob Squarepants, and the deductive reasoning of Death Note. Meanwhile, Masque of the Red Death sees you waltzing through one of Poe’s most famous stories.

I love how they took a more twisted, Tim Burton-esque take on the design. It suits Poe’s work really good.

And i love, love, love their licensed games. Be it Batman TOS, Sonic or Turtles, can’t wait to get my hands on them.

I’m a sucker for a deduction game and IDW’s production values have gotten ridiculously good.

Death Note is an incredible anime. That second half of th DN game, gave me a good impression of immersion on the series.
The TMNT minis are nice.

Just the name E. A. Poe gets me excited, since I love most of his work. Just like Mr. Lovecraft he´s a source of many a thrilling reading evening. And a game with all that? Great! As Mr. Poe wrote quite a few stories maybe there is, somewhere, an idea for a sequel of “Red Death”. First keywords I can think of are ravens, Ushers, purloined letters and what not.

IDW seems to be stepping up their efforts over the past year, as far as games go. Looking forward to several of these projects!

“The Masque of the Red Death” such a classic Poe story that I’ve enjoyed teaching to my students for many years. It’s very interesting to see it in board game form!

OK,a spongebob mini. My nephew would love that.

You can find a mini of more or less anything these days, its glorious. I remember buying white dwarf when it was just a small pamphlet about RPGs mainly, had no photographs, just drawings, including the front cover. That was the entire tabeletop hobby at the time, at least as much as young me could easily access.

Now I can buy minis of daleks, chewbacca and spongebob squarepants. What a time to be alive.

Ooh deja vu – we get this video twice! Good to get another look at Death Note Confrontation though – that looks very cool.

Love the idea of a TMNT board game. Great to see it with multiple ways to play including single player.

I haven’t played many IDW games, but these look delightful. Masque of the Red Death could be good for classroom use, though my students have always liked the revenge narrative in The Cask of Amontillado a little bit more. 🙂
