Unboxing: AVP – Young Bloods
May 17, 2016 by dignity
So you think you're ready to become blooded eh? Well we'll have to see about that Young Blood!
Today we're unboxing more Alien Vs Predator from Prodos Games and we're loving the sculpts on these models.
However, as we warned in the video these guys can be brittle so be careful when you take yours out of their boxes.
The set comes with Three Young Bloods in a variety of poses, ready for action.
Are you tough enough to take on the hunt?
My favourites for AvP so far
You guys won’t give Dust any love over their Kickstarter meanwhile Prodos are extorting their kickstwrter backers for additional money just so they can hope to get their pledge finally sent. Really disappointed in beasts of war who should stand behind the community not with Prodos let them know they get no more coverage until they treat their backers properly.
Been out in retail for almost a year multiple expansion releases yet many backers have yet to even see the core game. Yet you take Jareks lies and weak excuses as gospel when any logical person would have seen through his bs and unscrupulous and unprofessional business conduct. They admitted to using avsp funds to fulfil warzone In post on Facebook and would be charged with a crime if they were located in North America
Now if you want to jump ahead of others for shipping according to their last update just buy something from the store and they will ship your pledge before the other backers who refuse to be extorted
Beasts of war has failed to be the voice of the community and has utterly disappointed me in ignoring the glaring and offensive attitude of Prodos towards their backers who funded this whole thing.
Being a backer myself @pinkfluffyclouds, I think your being a bit over dramatic. the only ones to blame for this mess is Prodos, BoW have nothing to do with it, and cant be held accountable for other peoples follies. You do have a right to be angry with Prodos, they are from my point of view dodgy. But im not going to blame anyone else or spread the anger as it serves no purpose.
As for BoW talking about the game and showing the minis, well thats why I watch them, thats why I come here. Isnt that what Beast of War is all about? Games/ Minitures etc? I am not always going to agree with their views or taste in games or minitures but im not going to have a go at them because i am unhappy with Prodos (and Im not). I do want to see the AvP unboxing as I live in hope to get the rest of my order and I still love the minis. There is only one door to lay this mess on and it isnt BoW.
I replied to some of this here if it helps folks: http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/sci-fi-gamer-town-square/forum/topic/calling-avp-kickstarter-backers/?topic_page=32&num=15#post-160415
I . . . dunno, @pinkfluffyclouds . I’m not going to pretend I understand what’s been going on with Prodos and these minis. And judging by these +s there are some people who agree with you. I’d just be slightly careful about taking valid frustrations you may have with Prodos out on Beasts of War. Kickstarter or not, some gamers have these figures and may be interested in seeing an unboxing.
I mean, is it really BoW’s job to check the status of a KS before featuring content on a show?
And they had a big segment on the Dust KS woes during either an Weekender or XLBS, although admittedly it was a way back.
Again, not saying you and lots of others weren’t dicked over on this KS. Just don’t know if its a BoW thing. Just my two cents. 😀
All I know is that this video makes me want a Monster energy drink 😉
Seriously though, these models look great, keep up the good work fellas.
Sorry @oriskany BoW are fully aware of the issues and are choosing to Ignore the situation, and I don’t blame them to be honest.
However repeatedly advertising this company has led to me cancelling the backstage pass.
I just can’t support BoW whilst they continuously promote Prodos.
@elhanko – well said and understood. 😀
@ghostbear – a little off topic, but I just bought Catalyst Game Lab’s new stater set for Battletech and I’m looking into finally building my first Battletech force. I’ll be damned if I’m not “hooked” on the idea of Clan Ghostbear. Any tips on mechs? Campaign ideas? Do I have to fight only House Kurita / Clan Wolf / ComStar – Word of Blake, etc., places that actually share borders with Ghostbear? We can move the chat to a more appropriate thread if you want. 😀
Start a post and I’ll be happy to chat with you about it.
I don’t think either BoW or Prodos are doing themselves any favours by having any articles at the moment with the toxicity of the brand (irrespective of how great the minis are – I bought AvP from retail and they are amazing).
Anything going up at the moment is inviting negative comments. I know some say there’s no such things bad publicity…. but I would beg to differ on this occasion.
Even more freebies promoting Prodos on the weekender ffs.
I’m done.
I’m someone who’s interested in these unboxings. I don’t know all the ins and outs of the kickstarter debacle. It may well be that Prodos have treated customers pretty shabily and it sounds like they’ve given up communicating with them, which always seems like a disastrous idea. But it also seems like they’re between a rock and a hard place, and I can’t see that it would help anyone for them to go out of business. Revenge might feel sweet, but no one would gain from it.
So although I don’t blame those who feel hard done by for constantly bringing it up, it doesn’t mean I want to see multiple posts making the same point within a single article’s comment’s section. Prodos exist and they’re making some amazing product. I think Beasts of War should be covering them. I think they got the balance right in allowing Prodos to explain themselves, just as they’ve got the balance right in providing an outlet for angry backers to complain about the company. But guys, you’re not now telling us anything we don’t already know. I really, really hope you eventually get all your stuff, and that you’ll eventually enjoy using it (or sell it on for a tidy profit). But having made your point, please try not to clog up every discussion with repeating that same point, nor by having a go at BoW.
Hi @angelicdespot thanks for your input. The figures your referring to would not be available of it wasn’t for backers. Seems a shame to shaft the very people that funded the creation of the game and figures above.
I totally agree about the constant comments so I have requested a complete closure of my membership to BoW.
I believe I should vote with my feet and leave. Only my opinion and I am not suggesting anyone else does the same. I just don’t agree with the weekly promotions and freebies for Prodos games. It’s an insult to backers.
How about some love for Frostgrave? Game of the year!

Great looking minis and I look forward to receiving them at some point 🙂
I’ve also composed my own reply to the comments re Prodos, but I’ll put them in the AvP backers thread. It’s pretty long!
This is a useful overview, thank you! I’ve linked your video in my article about the set: https://alkony.enerla.net/english/the-nexus/miniatures-nexus/miniature-related/miniature-set/predator-young-bloods-set-for-alien-vs-predator-ed1-the-hunt-begins-from-prodos-games-2015-miniature-set-review
