Using a selection of their own products Army Painter have been putting together a few tutorials on how to paint Sci-Fi Marines in a quick and easy fashion which yields solid results...

Chaotic Red Marine

Green Marine

First up we have the four step tutorials for the Chaotic Red and Green armoured Sci-Fi soldiers which when presented like that makes you think twice about that pile of unpainted metal and plastic you have sitting on your painting table. This is more or less how I paint although I tend to just miss out the highlighting part unless I want to paint up a character.

Yellow Marine

Red Marine

They have also tackled the infamous Yellow paint scheme and another take on Red making both look just as easy. I'm a big fan of the way they've done the Yellow theme although I would potentially have had it looking a bit darker and grittier than that. I think a few more levels of shading and such over the armour would darken it down enough though.

Chaotic Red (Base)

Green (Base)

Yellow (Base)

Red (Base)

The all important last step was working on the bases and the team at Army Painter have got that sorted as well with a few extra bits and pieces of information covering what you need to do when making your model stand out. Of course while this has been adopted for the Anvil Industry Black Ops Marines here you could easily transfer this technique onto Power Armour for Games Workshop Space Marines.

Do you think these are tip top ideas for painting up mass armies of armoured Sci-Fi soldiers?
