"The Galaxy becomes smaller with every passing Cycle, and we must know the threats to our existence, and the advantages we must press to ensure our survival" Winston Sombarr, Consortium

That ought to make you wonder right? Awakening: Recon is a miniature strategy game that explores exactly that. The first skirmishes between races in a galaxy with ever dwindling resources. The game is a fast paced, strategic miniature wargame, meant to engage both veteran and casual players alike.

The complexity of the game comes from the players ability to construct their force, however he or she sees fit, adjusting to each player's style of play. Each of our four unique races plays differently from one another, enabling innovative strategy in every game you play.

The Races

The Consortium

The humans are the most common race in the galaxy, and by far the most curious and adventurous. They are also cunning and great survivalists. Not surprisingly, they developed an empire ruled by mega corporations that tend to the galaxy's needs...for a price. If you think money makes the world go round, imagine how much it costs to keep a whole galaxy spinning.

Consortium Race

The Consortium was formed as a way of protecting the financial interests of these corporations, by piling their resources into an armed force that could rival any threat the other races of the galaxy might throw against them. Play wise, they are a very ranged weapon heavy army. They are not well versed in close combat, at least compared with the other races, but they excel as the best marksmen in the game.

The Dagonians

These are the amphibious race that has bred the most bad ass warriors on the galaxy. Their society might appear strange by our standards.  With no family units, every member of society has a pivotal role to play in its quest for greatness. And, they are trained from birth to kill, because war is sacred to them.

Dagonian Race

Despite that they are most often peaceful, because they find most other races in the galaxy beneath them, and making war with a weak foe is not only dishonorable, it is heresy. They are the strongest hand to hand combatants in the game being tough as nails and precise in their strikes. If you like to settle your differences up close and personal, this is the race for you.

The Alphas

Remnants of a fallen civilization, the Alphas are the most intelligent species in the galaxy, they have mastered genetics, robotics, nanotechnology and most known sciences to a degree that all the others can do is dream of at this point. However, they are distrustful of one another, and live in planets isolated from each other, observing the goings on but never interfering.

Alpha Race

Unless they are provoked; then it's time to put those robotics and nanotech to good use, hop into their mech-suits and kick ass. They play like a one man army. In their mech they are a force to be reckoned, and they bring mini-bots that enhance their suits in various ways. War is not about how many troops you bring, it's about how many are left standing.

The Ipse

Long story short, they are the bad guys. You know those guys that are bad for the sake of being bad? That's not them...but almost. The Ipse are foreign to our galaxy, maybe even our dimension. They believe that this universe is an illusion, and therefore must be destroyed for reality to be restored. The Ipse are not a species per se.

Ipse Race

The Ipse is the higher being they claim to answer too. Since they can also be destroyed, they feel like they are figments of that entity's imagination, bred to fight the lie of the universe. In game, they are a specialist army. Each unit is exceptional at one thing be it shooting, close combat, even assassination, they have a solution.

They are however so specialized that you might not want to let your snipers get caught in a hand to hand fight with Dagonians, or your melee combatants in range of a Consortium firing squad. Probably the most tactical race in the game regarding construction of the army, they remind us why it is good to be bad.

IndieGoGo Campaign Launching Soon

Excited about our game? Good, because we will be launching our Indiegogo Campaign on February 6th 2016. Help us fund this amazing game, and follow us on social media for more updates.

Right now we have an alpha version of the rules that we hope our contributor during the Indiegogo campaign will help perfect and make definitive. It’s a D10 based system, with alternate activation of units, using a system of “command points”, hidden to your adversary.

Don't forget to comment below if you have any questions and we'll try and answer them!
