Star Wars Legion – Space Station Interior Table // Part 3

Hello everyone! While I am waiting for more terrain parts to arrive, I've turned my attention to some X-wing Fighters.
So this is the kit built out of the box. It's pretty decent for a snap-fit! So to get it ready for weathering work I first have to matt coat the model. This ensures the following steps adhere to the surface and give me a nice uniform finish.
I then used Army Painter Dark Tone, through the airbrush, to add streaking and grime build up. This gives the model so much definition and takes it away from the "toyish" look it had before.
For a first pass, this already brings the look of the model up nicely. And once I get into adding more details, this kit will really shine!

Those look way underscaled. A T-65 is about 490 inches. In 1/48 scale that runs to about 10.2 inches in length. How long are the kits?
There was one weekender video when they tackle the scale. True this Xwing is smaller than necesary, but as Justin said in the video, the same happens with the official speeder xD so they considered the issue resolved.
OK, thanks for the explanation. The only currently available kit I know of in about the right scale is the 1/48 Bandai X-wing, which is a much more expensive consideration.
It’s a great first step. I would go for some harder burn marks. Like from reentry into atmosphere or miniature asteroid bouncing of the hull at really high speed.
Also you have to repaint them at least a little. Unless you want 8x Red-5 (Luke’s Callsign / X-Wing) in your hangar. The callsign is identifiable due to the number of red stripes at the back of the wing.

Haha – I’ve got one of these (different packaging but same model) and if you do that you’ll be put right off!! It’s about the size of Legion Luke’s leg! I think the included pilot and R2D2 are way underscaled even for this model. It’s a touch small definitely. Interestingly I picked up the TIE fighter from the same range (they are labelled with the same scale but definitely aren’t) and the included Darth figure is very similar in size to the Legion miniature.
I would paint over some markings o they are not looking exactly same, like add one strip somewhere. paint one over. so they are individual markings for individual pilot in squad.
Theyre pretty cool and look around right for scale. I’ve just picked up and put together the Revell A-wing in 1/44,it works great and even had lights and sounds 🙂
the colour patches look way to strong and need dulled down.
I was thinking all the way thro the video that some chipping effects using piece of sponge method would add lots of character, maybe using some metallics and black but also if you could colour match to main beige colour then do chipping technique over the red and yellow panels just make the paint look a little scratched back to main body work colour. Also think a little metallic dry brush over some of the raised details would work well.
