Looks Great! Hos does the game compare to Guild Ball?

Quicker game play and far fewer murder combos. Where Guild Ball is a little more skirmish with a ball on the pitch, Dreadball is more of a pure sports game. A little bit basketball, a little bit lacrosse, and a little bit rugby.
I feel there’s also a little bit of American Football in the mix
played my first games last week, love the improvements to fouling, the addition of the new stat as well opens up more possibilities without it getting too clunky.
I look forward to forcing a league on the club as soon as is possible 😀
It’s a good coverage of the basics
Dreadball is one of my favourite ‘almost’ boardgames. I already have version 2 and played. While fouls have got ‘fruitier’, Im still a purist when it comes to tactics – Always go for the ball!
While I haven’t played that many 1st Ed. games, fouls have seemed to lack “punch”, so improving their effectiveness seems positive to me, as does improving the effectiveness of the jack. I like the idea behind the new ref check too. Interested to hear about captains, as I understand they aren’t universally popular…

Good coverage of the basics. I picked up a few things we’ve missed in my league so far.
The jacks definitely have a new lease on life now. I also really like the increased involvement of the fan checks and the way the cheerleaders now interact with that part of play.
sounds like a new excuse to paint up some cheerleaders
The fouling mechanic looks interesting . . . not having to declare it . . . just see if your opponent notices . . . that is errr different!

I have the first edition, but never could get my gaming group into it. I will have to try again with the new edition.

I like that you can get fan checks for great passes and fouling. Cards look a lot more useful now. Was annoying to get a card that your team couldn’t use.
Had some mega games and a great league with this. I do hope the league stuff is a ironed out as the rules. Te new system is really well done, can’t wait to smash it out. Will be painting my cyborg team in Brütal Deluxe colours. Oh yes. There will be teeth on the field/pitch/space rink/ board.
