Escape From Arkham Asylum With Knight’s Upcoming Batman Game

Knight Games (Knight Models) is going to be coming to Kickstarter later this year with their new Batman tabletop game, Escape From Arkham Asylum.

In this new game, you won't be playing as the Dark Knight himself but the massive rogue's gallery of villains that many will be familiar with. As a semi-cooperative "dungeon crawler", you will take on the role of Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, Penguin and more as they work their way through the Asylum looking to break free.

However, the guards of Arkham have called on Batman and he will be arriving at the Asylum sooner rather than later. You will have to battle the guards, find and craft equipment and tools and then burst through the gates.

The game will feature 35mm miniatures for all of the core villains but they have also mentioned that they plan to add loads more as their campaign unfolds. They are also talking about making the community part of the project in the run-up to the campaign. So, stick with them and see what they have planned.

I want to be excited about this, I really do. I love the ‘Batman Miniature Game’ and their miniatures in a board game would be nothing short of astounding. That being said Knight Models/Games has a whole have a massive problem on the logistics side of things when it comes to their business. I was really hoping they were turning things around at the beginning of this year, but they are slowly slipping back into their old ways. I’m so glad this is a DC project and not Marvel, ’cause now I can easily resist it.
Honestly this concept works best with the looney’s of Arkham, instead of most anything I can think of Marvel-wise. I’m just far more casual a fan of DC.
A super heroe dungeon crawl just sounds so cool, though. Very nice concept.
