Ulisses Spiele has announced that they are soon going to be coming to Gamefound with a new campaign, giving a fresh take on a classic Fighting Fantasy adventure. Fighting Fantasy Quest: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain is on the way!

Fighting Fantasy Quest - The Warlock of Firetop Mountain

Fighting Fantasy Quest: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain

This takes the original Firetop Mountain adventure and turns it into a full, cooperative board game for one to four players. You and your friends will explore fifteen distinct dungeon levels and uncover the secrets behind 200 incredibly illustrated story cards.

Heroes will have access to a variety of abilities and magical spells, as well as their trusty weapons and equipment, to defeat the traps and challenges of Firetop Mountain, plus the denizens that dwell within it. Much like the Fighting Fantasy books, you will also have to make decisions on what you do next, exploring the unfolding narrative and new challenges each time you sit down to play.

The Warlock of Firetop Mountain Gameplay

Fighting Fantasy Quest: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain

Games of Fighting Fantasy Quest: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain has you delving into scenarios that take between forty-five and sixty minutes to complete. You will be trying to seek out and defeat the warlock known as Zagor in a race against time, where you'll need to use your stamina, luck and skill to survive. This is because a scenario MUST be resolved within ten turns, so every decision you make matters.

Death is not uncommon but the game's rogue-lite mechanics mean that you will be able to improve with each attempt at the game. All of this is brought to life with iconic old-school illustrations as well as vibrant, new artwork from the minds behind the game.

This sounds like a great blending between the classic dungeon crawler, Fighting Fantasy books and some new fun mechanics, which add a twist to a familiar format.

Could you be tempted when this Gamefound campaign goes live?
