Joe Dever’s amazing Lone Wolf Gamebook Series is returning with a new Definitive Edition of the series. Featuring stunning new cover art but retaining the brilliant art by Gary Chalk within, the new set of releases will give folks another chance into this thirty-two-book series and see it reach a conclusion in 2024.

Flight From The Dark - Lone Wolf

Flight From The Dark // Lone Wolf

Similar to the likes of the Fighting Fantasy series, the Lone Wolf books allow you to take on the role of a heroic adventurer, delving into the world of Magnamund as one of the Kai Lords and their allies. The first five books for the new Definitive Edition of the series are available now with books six and seven becoming available in May.

The original author of the series, Joe Dever, passed away in 2016 and it was his final wish that his son Ben would complete the rest of the books in the series. Well, that is becoming a reality and as mentioned earlier, the final book in the series will be coming out, capping off this epic journey through the lands of Magnamund.

The Caverns Of Kalte - Lone Wolf

The Caverns Of Kalte // Lone Wolf

One of the nice things about the Lone Wolf series is that you can dive into each book and simply play them out as individual adventures or you can take it as the jumping-off point into an absolutely epic campaign that spans the entire series. I only ever played through the first book in the series, Flight From The Dark, but it was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the writing.

From my experience, it felt a little more forgiving than the Fighting Fantasy series and it was nice to have more of a focus when it came to the narrative. I might use this new set of books as a way to dive back into the series and play through the adventures properly.

Lone Wolf - The Miniatures Game

As well as the new versions of the Gamebooks for you to enjoy diving into, the team behind Lone Wolf and Stone Sword Games have announced that they are going to be working on the new Lone Wolf: The Miniatures Game that will hit Kickstarter in the Spring.

Designed to be played solo or cooperatively, this is going to be another way to dive into the world of Magnamund and experience some epic sagas. Join the battle between Lone Wolf and Archlord Zagarna or struggle back to Toran after the fall of the Kai Monastery. You'll be able to see those stories come to life in a different way than you have before.

As you might have guessed, with the subtitle "Miniatures Game", you would expect that we're going to be seeing some. Well, there are already a few previews and renders online.

Miniatures are going to be brought to life for the likes of the Kai Lords, their allies and enemies like Giaks, Drakkarim and the forces of Naar. If you're interested in the pedigree of Stone Sword Games, they have previously worked on Senjutsu: Battle For Japan and one of our favourites, Hogs Of War: The Miniatures Game.

Watch out for the Kickstarter landing around April and remember to dive in and check out the book series if you've not done so before.

Will you be returning to Lone Wolf and Magnamund?
