Last year at SPIEL21, we were provided more information on the expected expansion for Riftforce coming from Capstone Games. Now with more info as we approach the release, Riftforce: Beyond is making its way to the tabletop this August. Bringing a new solo mode and upping the player count and some new guilds to flex in the fast-paced, fantasy card game.

Riftforce Beyond - Capstone Games

If you have never played Riftforce before, players will be enrolling into guilds to bring elemental damage to their opponents. Harnessing and solidifying knowledge of the Riftforce hoping to ascend into a higher power with unique abilities to tab into rifts.

In the core box, players will be battling it out by taking home one of the ten asymmetrical guilds, aligning themselves with special abilities and unique powers with the elements to showcase potential against other guilds.

Solo Mode - Riftforce Beyond

Originally, in the core set - this would end up as a roaring dual. However, the new box not only ups the player count for some more diverse rift-swelling duals with a three or four-player game, but will add a fierce solo mode to contend and practice with. With the chance for team-ups and getting an ally involved for some less stabby gameplay.

Alongside the additional bonuses to player count, the expansion will also provide eight more guilds to get involved with, bringing a new and expanded roster of 18 Guilds in total.

The upcoming expansion is set to be released on August 9th, however, if you did want to get your hands on the upcoming expansion. Be sure to head on over to the Capstone Games website for the official pre-order. Or keep an eye on your FLGS and online stores for Riftforce: Beyond.

As much as I enjoyed competing in Riftforge, I do find that playing in such a brutal dual can be quite tiring if you play it more than often. Bringing in extra players or adding in a solo mode truly does extend the title with a multitude of experiences for replayability.

Have you played Riftforge? Would you be interested in picking up the incoming expansion?
