Privateer Press has announced that Riot Quest, their quirky miniatures game, is going to be getting a brand new "big box" board game version packed with plastic miniatures. This evolution of Riot Quest is coming to Kickstarter soon.

Riot Quest Board Game - Privateer Press

Riot Quest Board Game // Privateer Press

This new core boxed set is going to come packed with options for four players to get started into some board game hijinks on the tabletop. Have no fear. If you already own a bunch of Riot Quest paraphernalia then you'll be happy to know that everything here is compatible with the existing game and its expansions.

The set comes with twelve different characters which come in four different colours. This is so that four players can have plenty of fun and create crews with characters left over. A good option for those wanting to perhaps play with different setups each time they sit down to play.

The focus is going to be on the Mayhem season from Riot Quest and any additional unlocks from the campaign will introduce new plastic heroes and such to your core pledge. There will even be a chance for the community to get involved and make their own Riot Gear!

Riot Quest Pe(s)ts Expansion!

Finally, for those who already have loads of Riot Quest miniatures, you'll be able to pick up a new expansion. Get adorable and deadly with the Pe(s)ts Expansion.

Pests Expansion - Riot Quest

Pe(s)ts Expansion // Riot Quest

This will include six different pets (all in four different colours). They count as Riot Gear which gets placed on the board alongside your heroes. They provide all manner of wacky abilities that will aid you in securing loot and bounties. They are also absolutely adorable so they should be nice to paint as well.

This seems like a solid direction for them to take Riot Quest. I think providing people with a single four-player entry point might be a good way to get more people playing the game quickly and perhaps look ahead towards expansions in the future. It's also neat that the campaign will also cater to those who are already invested!

Are you going to be backing this and giving it a go?
