Have a great day!
Space Crusade looks interesting!
I really like the AVP miniatures by prodos, and some of Warzone as well. The only thing that strikes me with these guys is the way they do things. AVP ‘boardgame’ rules were a disaster, lacking of theme and of poor quality. Never played a game more booring. When it comes to Warzone – the game looks pretty neat in design, but this time some miniatures are just bad. A sherry on the cake – Prodos do not paint their miniatures as lately – but use photoshop which is clearly visible. Ok – they look great in the pictures, but that is a totally different product than the one you will get. Painted 3d imagges instead of real miniatures? Give me a break…
Loving those minis.
Happy weekend Weekenders!
What a long but a fascinating show!
Spartan Games ships look class! I am now split between their game and Full Thrust.
@oriskany and @chrisg pulled it off! War of Independence is what really interests me. I am really interested in history of the USA and its culture so I am waiting impatiently for Monday! Thumbs up guys!
Prodos games AvP is something I want to jump into but sadly I know I won’t have anyone to play it on a regular basis. Yet, their single cast minis are fabulous if you’re into Space Crusade as of now.
Very cool Weekender. The Infinity Week was instrumental too; getting back into the game afer a while … 🙂
Great show this week,
How rigid are those prodos one piece casts, that’s what I want to know
I assume this Space Crusade is no relation to the old boardgame of the same name? I had a lot of fun with that one back in the day.
It’s a re-imagining/follow up.
The licence was available so they took it – I hope this means they will keep to the spirit of the original
Wauw, what a fantastic show. Only have seen half of it. But want to say it gives me too much inspiration so far. The Prodos miniatures are very beautiful. I love one piece miniatures. I am a player and painter, not a builder. So much detail in one piece. I really like the feel of the Martian Banshee Line Breakers. Nice looking unit. But I am a big fan of the Mercurian Maculators, it is how a space ork should look like. Very feral and warlike with a nice shoota.
But the Infinity goodness is also very beautiful. I think to start painting my Caledonians this evening again. The table is fabulous. As is the scenery for Malifaux, great feel!
Firestorm Taskforce. A space game played in 30 minutes. This is what I am looking for. A good lunchbox game or maybe after a bigger game of something else. I think it has a big pick&play feel.
Ow and American Independence, nothing for me, I thought…but again too much inspiration. I deffinitily have to dig this out.
As I sad before, too much in one show. Tomorrow I will see the other half. Thanks guys for the great show.
It was nice to see someone from Prodos in the show. Warzone is an awesome game!
Wow, really enjoyed this weekender.
I think Prodos have done a lot to redeem themselves in their segment and have restored my (and I assume a few others) faith in their ability to lead this industry to some really cool places. Those single piece miniatures are still messing with my brain and I can’t work out how they are doing it so I’m going with sorcery and magic 🙂
If nothing else it was nice to see Jarek not looking like he is at his wits end. Last time we met he looked ragged and run to the edge living on energy drinks.
@warzan Clever viewers already skip the content that doesn’t float their boat – but I’m sure you already know that from analytics anyway 😛
The one piece Space Crusade minis are awesome, I mean what the hell! Prodos does a killer job, they are amazing.
I would love to win those great prodos minis, so please count me in for them.
Really looking forward to the AWI article series. A buddy and I are trying to get into this confilct right at the moment and are still discussing what rules and what scale to use.
Great show guys, thanks!
The interview with Prodos was the main thing I watched this Weekender for and it did not disappoint. Certainly gave me a better understanding of the problems they encountered with AvP and the thinking behind the PG18 version of Space Crusaders. Thanks for asking the difficult questions in the interview. Much appreciated.
Kickstarter sounds like nightmare, I feel bad for prodos, but when he said “We didn’t inform the public about this situation because it was not relevant and we were working hard trying to fix it” I think that was the wrong approach. Many backers just wanted a simple one line explanation about what was going on, which they gave eventually but by then the wild speculation as to what went wrong and the bad blood had the damage already done.
The mercurial orcs are very nice. They are actually much bigger than you think looking at the image. I will definately have to get a set even though I play bauhaus.
Those Prodos models do look seriously tasty
great hearing about prodos, the single mini casting looks sweet
Well I did theAWI with him and hes sold it to me too. LOL. Jim I have to say makes working on anything together a real pleasure. If any of you want or have an article you want to do contact Ben and go from there. I will be showing how to paint the 6 mm stuff alongside some other bits that will run alongside the articles themselves.
Good hunting
Chris G
It’s always nice to see alternatives to GW minis, especially as nice as Prodos ones.
Well after a friday night of playing large version of Axis and Allies eating pizza and chicken and drinking beer and finishing at 4am, and now on a epic journey to Swansea and back you guys picked the right time to do a two hour show:-)
@oriskany and @chrisg looking forward to you AWI series, love the fact that you have tried to set the context and un blue v red the war. It like many wars tend to be simplified to the basics when i reality it was not just local influences but world influences. I am certainly no expert in the period and look forward to reading up on it:-) Especially love the fact you are doing 6mm 🙂 @dignity 6mm are not hard to paint and basing is so so simple:-) i dare you to give it a go:-)
Really liking the new firestorm armarda ships from Spartan, if i had not already gone credit card deep into Dropzone and Dropfleet I would so go for this… Hmm how about Spartan and Hawk team up and do a crossover…lol
The Infinity table is so inspiring.
I would like to paint some Prodos miniatures. I think some of them could be very useful in weird ambient sungeon crawlers like Shadows of Brimstone.
Thanks for the segment on our Infinity table, as I mentioned in the forum post it was a group effort to put it all together. We’re also really hoping to get to Salute 2017 if we get the opportunity to do so, just hoping we get picked for a gaming table 🙂
Good show, one I’ve been waiting to see for some time now, being a Backer. I think the interview has gone a long way to making some piece. Im just hopeing I get my stuff this time and it doesn’t get sent to Jamaica again!
