Snake Men Slither Into Archon’s Masters Of The Universe!

Archon Studio recently introduced a new set to their Masters of the Universe: Battleground collection. The team are now onto Wave 8 of the game and that brings the Snake Men into the mix, seeking to complete their mission on Eternia!

Masters of the Universe: Battleground is Archon's great skirmish game where you can take heroes and villains from the core and extended universe and battle it out on hex maps. Each game involves different scenarios and you can mix things up with thematic terrain and more, so you've got plenty of ways to enjoy the Masters of the Universe action.

This set comes with six new miniatures for the Snake Men, drawing on plenty of excellent characters; a deep dive for any Masters of the Universe fans.

In terms of characters, this set comes with King Hsss, Lady Slither, Sssqueeze, Kobra Khan, Rattlor and Fang-Or. I always love the naming conventions for Masters of the Universe, born out of the toy range which was, of course, very on the nose.

"As the Snake Men enter the battle, the stage is set for the Ultimate Battleground! Claws and fangs clash against swords and axes, while lasers meet spells in a whirlwind of conflict. Will King Hsss and his army of evil minions emerge victorious? The outcome lies in your hands."

The set also comes with a selection of Low Obstacles, which introduce new terrain into your games alongside Swamps, plus all of the Cards and Tokens you need for playing the game. There will also be a Rulebook in the set, which will lead you through what you need to know gameplay-wise.

You will need the Starter Set Box for you to make use of this set but it serves as a great expansion to the game, offering up new tactical options for those who have powered their way through other sets. I think, much like with the rest of the Battleground range, these would also be really fun to paint. You get to go bright and poppy with these figures and make use of all of those primary colours!
