Steamforged Games Announce Helldivers II: The Board Game

Steamforged Games announced that they are going to be bringing another big IP to the tabletop in board game form with Helldivers II. The new Sci-Fi board game is going to be coming to Gamefound soon as both a solo and cooperative experience.

We don't know too much so far yet other than it's going to be coming to Gamefound on 8th April and will give you options for playing solo and with three friends going up to four players at a time. I would then assume that you're going to be undertaking some pretty Helldivers-esque endeavours, making planetfall and blasting bugs, bots and more.
A few morsels of information popped up in the comments shared on the Gamefound campaign. For one, the miniatures are going to be around 35mm as they match up with the same size as a Warcaster from their Warmachine range. That should mean the big baddies like the Terminid here are going to be fairly sizeable!

I'm intrigued to see what Steamforged Games has planned and I would guess we're going to be seeing development diaries and more popping up from the design team over the next few weeks. Helldivers feels like a good fit for a board game and it's certainly still popular enough to draw in an audience.
If you'd like to dive into the world of Helldivers without having to wait for the Gamefound campaign, I'd recommend going to have a look at Grimskald's free rules for Doomdivers! which you can snap up right now and maybe check out those miniatures we looked at a couple of weeks ago on the OTTWeekender. Plenty of places do some great alternative miniatures.
Let's see what Steamforged Games have planned for their stab at the brutal action of Helldivers II!
