Steamforged Bring Helldivers II Board Game To Gamefound
April 9, 2025 by brennon
Steamforged Games are now live on Gamefound with their Sci-Fi board game for the hit video game, Helldivers II. This big board game comes packed with all the elements that you'd expect from a Helldivers game, featuring all the iconic weapons, game mechanics and relentless foes.
Helldivers II: The Board Game // Steamforged Games
During your games, you'll take on the role of "Ministry-approved" Helldivers who come with their own specialities and loadouts. You can further customise each Helldiver the deeper into the game you go but to begin with, you'll have a solid base to build on with the core weapons for each character.
From there, you'll choose a planet to battle on with their own unique environment rules alongside both Core and Expansion missions which will give you the tasks that you're going to undertake once you make planetfall.
Helldivers II: The Board Game // Steamforged Games
Fighting your enemies, including the Terminids in the core box, will require teamwork and each player will need to work together in order to take down both regular and normal foes. Much like in the video game, you'll have to watch your ammo consumption and call in a resupply should you end up running low.

Strategems are also part of the mix and each player will get their own board where they can "punch in" the correct code to call in airstrikes and more to blow your enemies to pieces. Your foes are no pushovers however and you'll need to adopt different strategies in order to bring them down.

If you're interested in finding out more about the game, the Demo Rulebook is available for you to download right now HERE. It should give you a good idea of how the game works but if you'd like to see the game in action, you can watch Steamforged's official playthrough below.
Helldivers II: The Board Game - Official Playthrough
There are a couple of options when it comes to pledges for Helldivers II: The Board Game, starting with the basic Commander Pledge, which gives you the Core Box. You can then level up as far as the Hell Commander Pledge, where you get the Core Box plus all of the Expansions and Gamefound Exclusives. Talking of expansions...
Automaton Expansion // Steamforged Games
Yes, you can get your hands on the Automato Expansion where you'll get introduced to a whole bunch of new foes for you to face. You can also check out much more as part of Gamefound with Bile Titans, Impalers, Factory Striders and the Patriot Exosuit.
Do you think you'll be snapping up this tabletop take on Helldivers II?

Nice looking minis, especially the Automatons, but zero interest in the game tbh. May keep an eye on fleabay when the minis get sold off 😉
Same. I can see a lot of these as alt models in 40k armies.
A trailer that says nothing how the game plays…and a 3 hour play-through?!? Is this the best their marketing can do? I want to see a short but as comprehensive as possible explanation on how the GAME WORKS…is that too much to ask?
The minis look fantastic, as a boardgame, not sure it interests me, loved the actual game though. Managed Democracy!
There is no Campaign game, all single missions, and a similar play style to Monster Hunter and Horizon Zero Dawn. I’m not interested in this; even the minis don’t interest me.
I know its based on a Ip, but the cards are “basic” in colours and design, and the tiles are very bland. And no planet hopping campaign, which would be nice, picking he planet to fight on next. I wonder how starcraft will look and play out
Starship troopers two counter attack ?
