Community Spotlight: Blood, Gore, Gotham Sirens & Klingon Warmaidens

November 3, 2017 by crew

Come and join us for another round of Community Spotlight goodness as we've got some insane projects to show off from the Hobby & Painting Forum today.

Get ready for blood, gore, robots, the ladies of Gotham and even a warrior woman from beyond the stars.

Blood, Gore & Stompy Robots by tmsmnns

We lead the way with some work by the utterly amazing tmsmnns, or Tomas Mennes as most of you will know him. He has done some sterling work for us on a number of tutorials which you can see HERE. His recent projects, full of blood and gore however...take the biscuit!

Blood & Gore #1 by tmsmnns

tmsmnns has done some utterly insane work on showing off these big stompy robots cutting and slicing their way through some poor Warbeasts. For example in the first image Ruin is crushing that Trollblood into a bloody pulp.

The second model from this collection shows a Warjack bisecting that poor hog in a shower of gore.

Blood & Gore #2 by tmsmnns

When you get close up and see how this has all come together I think you'll agree that tmsmnns got himself a well deserved golden button for his work this week.

Blood & Gore #3 by tmsmnns

Hopefully, we see more in this range of vignettes with potentially some Warbeasts smashing seven shades of screws out of a Warjack or two as oil and magical energy goes flying.

Gotham Sirens by volleyfireandy

It's time to now step into the world of Batman and face off against some of the Gotham Sirens by volleyfireandy. Once again, some amazing work which really brings to life each of the different characters.

Gotham Sirens #1 by volleyfireandy

Here we have Catwoman done in black. Once again, if I'd been painting this she'd just be a matte black but of course, you need to get in there and do some highlighting and shading.

Poison Ivy, by comparison, has the amazing pale skin which clashes so wonderfully against her bright red hair and the green vines creeping around her legs.

Last but not least we have Harley Quinn who looks as dangerous as ever with that psychotic expression captured perfectly.

Each of these lovely ladies has been so much care and attention you'd hope they perform well on the tabletop. I'd like the basing to potentially have been more focused around the streets of Gotham but it works well as it is to frame the models.

Klingon Valkyrie By krautwerk

Quick off the mark from Essen SPIEl '17 we have this Klingon Valkyrie from krautwerk which is part of the growing Star Trek range by Modiphius.

Klingon Valkyrie by krautwerk

With the new series of Star Trek being a hot topic for a lot of Sci-Fi fans it's awesome to see someone getting stuck into these classic looking Klingons and showing off how these warrior women from one of the toughest races in the galaxy shape up.

The use of object source lighting across the one side of the model is great and puts her in a place and time aboard a Klingon vessel, ready to defend it against anyone who tries to board.

A great model and a fantastic paint job.
