D&D Gets a New Miniatures Game – Dungeon Command!

July 17, 2012 by brennon

Of course there was at one point a D&D Miniatures game, complete with pre-painted plastics. You can still use those miniatures in 4th Edition and of course through the Adventure Games (Wrath of Ashardalon etc) and now within Dungeon Command, a new game using different sets by Wizards of the Coast.

Sting of Lolth Set

Right now there are two sets out, the Sting of Lolth and Heart of Cormyr allowing you to take on the forces of Good or Evil. Players then fight against each other in a monster summoning and battling game using modular tiles and some nice miniatures to boot.

All these miniatures come with cards allowing them to be used in your Adventure Games, expanding the existing content. This can be in the form of enemies or indeed allies to aid your heroes.

There are two more sets on the way, Curse of Undeath and Tyranny of Goblins.

Above is a video by the Dice Tower's Tom Vasel which explains a little bit more about the game, so make sure to check it out!

Does this seem like a game system you would be interested in for a Dungeons & Dragons fix?
