Watch Out For PaintingPolygon’s Dungeons & Doggies Kickstarter!
July 16, 2018 by brennon
Russ and Matt of PaintingPolygons are going to be on Kickstarter this Wednesday with a wonderful project, Dungeons & Doggies. The sculpting/painting pair is going to be bringing their Fantasy animal adventurers to life via the fundraising platform.
The range takes some well-loved breeds of pooch and crosses them with iconic Dungeons & Dragons classes in order to give you a collection of very different looking adventurers to use in your games.
You can see the various different characters above along with lots of neat extras which are going to be coming alongside the release of the miniatures. I love that we're getting new feats, racial rules and more for you to explore meaning that you can actually just play a full-on dog-based campaign!
The guys even painted a few of the models to show them off in all their glory and explored their backstories too...
You can see more of the painted examples and follow along with the run-up to the launch of the Kickstarter over on their Facebook Page.
Make sure to set your alarms for 8pm BST on Wednesday 18th July if you want to get involved with this project.
Dawww...so cute!

Very cute idea. I may have to support this.
I have been waiting for this Kickstarter for a while now.
Daww, so cute.
So which dog is who out of the BoW boys? (Or should that be BoWwow boys? ?)
@dignity top row #1?
@dracs bottom row #3?
Warren middle row #3?
Not sure for Ben or John, maybe middle #1 and bottom #2?
Now I really want to see you guys do a D&D campaign with these, just need to find suitable monsters/NPCs to fight. Hmm anyone make fantasy cat minis you could use? ??
Vacuum cleaner golem.
Jellatinous(gravy)cube.
The Postie.
The villainous duo: Spay & Neuter!
The Elusive Automotive Carriage.
Ninja Squirrels.
Dire Frisbees.
I love this ! However, I will only fund it if the miniatures are proper metal or resin. Plastics, unless from incredible experts in that field, is a big no-no for me when considering buying pet projects and labours of love: these should be high quality and super detailed. Accept no substitute !
“Pet projects” ?
Well, they’re plastics from Steamforged Games. At least they didn’t price themselves out of my consideration. Maybe they’ll off a metal or resin version.
Hopefully that’s not all the breeds that they plan.
I believe that is all, at least for now. There’s already a lot ! One breed per character class for now. Maybe more will follow in the future if this is successful, we never know.
Shame, no Rottweilers, St. Bernards (c’mon, cleric, anyone?), Dobermanns, poodles ( I realize that it might be difficult to sculpt “fluffy” properly), etc. I’m not sure, as lovable and loyal as they may be, to have a Golden Retriever as a wizard. They’re not known to be the brightest bulb in the marquee.
All that said, I’ll still give it a look to help fuel my teenage daughter’s entry into D&D.
Sorry, I missed Beethoven in the render.
No poodles, no rottweilers… might be a doberman-ish type, I don’t know. No Bull-terrier either, pomeranian, walhund, yorshire terrier, jack russel… Still, there are so many breeds, they had to choose only one for each class. That’s that ! 🙂
You are right about the St. Bernard being the Cleric though.
Great looking model’s For an interesting game.
these are so cute 🙂
