Cisternina Deus (Ecclesia Stercus)
Here are some juicy close-ups of our 3rd major building on our massive 40K gaming table.
If you are interested to know how we created the gaming table you can watch the build vlogs here:
https://www.beastsofwar.com/vlog/hobby-vlog
Watch out for night shots at some point this week too!
This building has been named and has some background created by our community member – robert.
► Cisternina Deus (Ecclesia Stercus)
The second building was a shrine to the Adeptus Astartes. The chapter it was dedicated to, is little known, but the Cisternina Deus saved the world from an Ork invasion, 300 years before the present times and the people revered these marines here. More sinister dealings have been thought to have occurred here, and ultimately this shrine to the Imperiums finest warriors may be the source of all of the world’s woes. This building was known as the Ecclesia Stercus.

Bearers Of The Chainsword
The 40k Hobby Weekend has come to a close, which means it is time to announce the two winners of our Chainsword kit.
From among our online participants, the winner is Darkdanegan for his fantastic work on his Militarum Tempestus.
Meanwhile, at the CoG suite, the winner was none other than George for his fantastic conversion work on the leader of his Adeptus Mechanicus.
That’s it from us, we hope you had a great time at the hobby weekend. Please keep updating your projects as you go, because a hobby is not just for the weekend, it’s for life.
Thanks to everyone who took part and we hope you all will join us for the next one.
James Converts The Masses
One of the projects that most caught our eye this weekend was James’ work converting his minis and adding in all sorts of interesting bits and pieces.
The Battle of the Caesar
Our webcomic maestro Caesar is locked in mortal combat with his dear brother on the apocalypse table.
Tyranids are looking pretty squishy as the Tau warmachine rumbles on. Who will emerge victorious and retain bragging rights in the Caesar family?

Day Three Is Underway
All the weekend attendees are here and getting stuck into their favourite parts of the hobby.
We have people sculpting, and converting, while others focus on bringing their armies to colourful life.
Meanwhile, battle is once again breaking out across Mauria’s Sanctum.
David’s ‘Nids are taking no prisoners this weekend.
Let's Get Creative
It’s been a furious weekend of hobbying both in and out of the studio. Here are just a few of the projects we looked over yesterday.
We’ll be looking at more Projects today, so make sure to keep an eye on the Live Stream and remember to keep us updated on your hobbying.
Emperors’ Light
We’re mid way through the OnTableTop 40K Weekend!
Yesterday we highlighted the building called the Bareith Guild House but today we are getting a close up look at the Ivory Tower called Emperors’ Light.
We’ve been building this Apocalypse size 40K gaming table over the last month with the main building materials coming from the Archon Studio Rampart terrain system https://archon-studio.com/
Watch the build vlogs here: https://www.beastsofwar.com/vlog/hobby-vlog/
► Emperors’ Light a.k.a Lantern Hoard (Cypher2009)
One of the tallest buildings in the sector, the Emporers’ Light is used as both a communications tower, and also a light beacon to make low-flying craft aware of both their position on the planet and that there are tall buildings present. Due to the large number of flashing and flickering lights that adorn the tower, the locals have given it the name “The Lantern Hoard”.
Getting The Paint Down
Nearly everyone has their armies built and primed, so now we’re starting to see more and more colour starting to appear.
Everyone’s relaxed and enjoying their hobbying, whatever stage they are at. It looks like we’ll have some pretty cool armies coming out of this weekend.
It's End Game For The Imperium
David and Matthew’s Apocalypse game has reached its zenith as the swarms of the Tyranids have invaded the Imperium’s final sanctum.
Welcome To T'Au Jungle
Inspired by the stories of Japanese forces still fighting after WWII, Chris Caesar has created an army of T’Au still fighting for the Greater Good.
Nids vs Imperium: The Battle Rages On
If you’ve been watching today’s Live Stream, you probably saw that the battle hasn’t been going too well for the Imperium.
It all started with the Tyranids swarming across the board. The Imperium managed to whittle down their numbers, but not before they themselves lost one of their precious tanks.
However, it’s not just the Tyranids in front they have to worry about, as a swarm of the gribbly aliens have turned up in the river behind them.
Everyday I'm Hobbying
The hobbying is well underway today, with everyone relaxing, chatting, and getting their armies ready for the table.
People are getting stuck into every part of the Warhammer 40k hobby here, from building and painting, to getting some games going.
The Apocalypse Is Here
As everyone gets stuck into their second day of hobbying, a game of Apocalypse is breaking out across the amazing gaming table.
David and Matthew are gearing up for a truly massive game. Matthew’s brave Imperials are lining up to provide a last line of defence / tasty all-you-can-eat buffet for a never ending horde Tyranids.
The guys have just finished their deployment, and we’ll be checking back in with them to see how the conflict is shaping up.
Day Two Begins!
It’s the beginning of Day Two and our live stream is set to kick off at 13:00 BST.

It will be interesting to see what he dose when he gets to the armored troops.
No Sprue Is Safe!
Clip like your life depends on it. We can then make sure we keep all of these to start building terrain later on down the line…

If you’ve been following along with the table build you will know we’ve completed it! Now it’s time to get a close up look.
We think it’s turned out amazing and are very pleased with the look we’ve achieved with Archon Rampart terrain system.
Here’s some shots of the first main structure. We will add some more posts highlighting other parts as we go 🙂
