Forge World Open Day 2015 Live Blog

Community member @deadave has headed up to Nottingham for the Forge World Open Day! He will be dashing around grabbing pictures of all the awesome models and seeing what tasty morsels he can get out of the designers there too!
Of course there is more to the event than just the new models so keep an eye out for some cool stuff.
Will you be there? If so, say hello to deaddave.
Blogging At This Event:
The New and Improved Warhammer World!
Attending my first Forge World open day at the recently refitted Warhammer World! Has a swanky new entrance and reception area. Also new are the individual stores for Black Library and Forge World.
The Forge World Studio
And now the much vaunted Forge World Studio area! Where you have access to the sculptors, digital artists, writers and all the other people that bring Forge World to life. Also at this event, early access and sneak peeks of upcoming miniatures (more on this later).
Exhibition Hall One
Here's some pictures from first of the new exhibition halls at the newly revamped Warhammer World. There is so much on display this is only a fraction of what's to view!
The Black Library Store
The new Black Library store is looking pretty snazzy, with an extensive selection of books and even a store exclusive book (which has annoyingly sold out!).
Upcoming tank, the Mastodon!
One of the main attractions of the FW open day is the previews of work in progress miniatures, here we have the legion heavy transport, the Mastodon, what a beast!
Exhibition Hall Two
Here's the second of the exhibition halls, again, this is a small selection of how much is on display, but I'm trying to get a varied selection.
Lunch at Bugmans!
Time for a spot of lunch, for those who have never been, this is the awesome Bugmans Bar! Does some epic grub.
Perturabo!
Here we have the father of the Iron Warriors. It's an absolutely cracking miniature. Love the sculpt on the face, and I'm totally in love with the ammo belts feeding the rather awesome looking gauntlet mounted guns!
The Forge World Store
For the first time, you can now pick up FW items off the shelf, this is good for locals in Nottingham, but unfortunately for me, I'll still be buying online or at events!
Exhibition Hall Three Part One
The epic diorama on display in hall three!
Meeting The Artists
Got to have a chat with Rachel Pierce, she has worked with FW for three years, and illustrates for the Horus Heresy books and Imperial Armour. She works exclusively in Photoshop for the work she does for FW.
Creating a Warlord!
They have on display the original prototype for the new warlord Titan, as well as initial sketches of the design. Also, they have previewed an alternative head.
A Chat With Stuart Williamson
Stuart is showing off his latest creation, the Ordinatus! What an epic looking vehicle!
Cabinet Goodies!
In your tour of the studio, you come across plenty of work in progress miniatures, some interesting looking stuff on the horizon!
Legion Upgrade Sets
Fans of the Dark Angels, White Scars, Alpha Legion and the Blood Angels are in for a treat with new sets!
whaty a supriseI havent been there yet, nice to see it at last dave – are you going to see museum of models as well? would love to see some of that.
If they have Purturabo on display please take some pics!
Doing a fantastic job, buddy!
Excellent work – thank you!
looking good Dave, hope you’re having a smashing day!
Great updates Dave 🙂
Cant Wait to see more.
Just spotted the Eidelon model on one of the other sites pictures, wow Dave if you spot him can you snap me a pic?
Internet has been a bit iffy for Dave there at the moment so bear with him as the WiFi at Warhammer World is terrible.
BoW Ben
You’d think that on a day of such importance to the imperium of man that the tech adepts would maintain a high level of communications.
Must be Alpha Legion operatives!
stuff might get leaked if they where better
I think GW were tampering with my connection!
Like the coverage well played sir 😉
Cheers for these – nice pics. Perturabo interesting.
Thanks Dave
Great coverage. It is amazing stuff.
Thanks Dave, great updates. Looking forward to going there myself in a few weeks time with the kids.
Great job, Dave! Hope you’re having fun too!
Thank you very much for your time and taking the pics Dave otherwise i’d say a lot of people would never get to see the inside of forge world
Great coverage Dave, really appreciate your efforts fella!
Thanks a lot for your work and your great pictures.
Man I really dig these Dark Angel Helmets !
Nice one Dave
Unfortunately couldn’t make it this year (went to Grand Prix instead!)
Lots of shiny things I see….. may have to start Legion No4!
Commented on a few of the posts themselves, but thought I would add one here to thank DeadDave for the coverage. Great stuff.
love the new stuff that is going to be coming out thanks for the brilliant pictures Dave.
Looks awesome, hope to make the trek over the pond for this someday!
last time I was there I got a Migraine which completely sucked, i don’t think my eyes liked the lights in the FW store.
The additions to Warhammer World are absolutely brilliant and are well worth a visit.
Thank you very much Deadave, really appreciated that, great pictures and info, will be heading down to the new Warhammer world fairly soon I hope. Thank you again for giving up some of your visit and sharing it with us.

Thanks for that Deaddave. Now to get back to work instead of looking at all the shiners
