Salute 2015 Live Blog: The Days Fun

We're preparing for Salute and that means Warren needs his running shoes on! As well as that we're making sure we do the proper...err...exercises

Much like the Avengers the Beasts of War Live Blogging team is quite the close knit group of highly evolved superheroes...or something like that. Keep an eye on them throughout the day.

Napoleon is settling in for his last big hurrah in this fantastic looking battle...

As always the queue waiting to get into Salute is massive and everyone is very keen to get stuck into the show. Let's see what's happening with Warren and Dawn.

We spoke to Tim King at Mantic's 'Kings of War' table. They are running participation/demo games of Kings of War at the 750 point level. They are currently refining the second edition rules focusing on army balance following their recent successful Kickstarter!

Right next to our Hoth board is a fantastic War of Independence table with a game that spans over rolling hills down to cliffs and even into the sea itself...

We got a great look at the new Halo Fleet Battles game coming from Spartan Games. Video coming soon!

We dropped by the World Of Twilight table running participation games in their unique fantasy setting created by Mike Thorp. This scenario is called Bug Hunt, where the players fight over a living food source, but in this game the food fights back!

The great thing about World of Twilight is there are many scenarios that cater for multiple players.

Retro sci-fi fun with Retro Raygun from Hydra Miniatures! A fantastic pulp sci-fi game with cool retro minis. The terrain is provided by Adrian's Wall.

Check out the tabletop that was showing off the new Warriors of Antiquity wargame from Victrix that will be out later this year.

We managed to grab a few words with Adam Clark at Black Scorpion. He was dealing with a huge crowd of customers looking to pick up models for his pirate game Cutlass. He let us know that he is working on Tombstone, a new Western game which will use a similar game engine to Cutlass.

What we really liked about the Black Scorpion model range were the plethora of female miniatures on display.

Spartan Games give us the low down on all things Halo Fleet Battles at Salute 2015 ahead of their release later this year.

The Dice Bag Lady brings possibly the most colourful stall I have ever seen to Salute! She's stocking her amazing, hand crafted Dice Bags, plenty of original merchandise and her very own Baggy miniature to the show!

It was really good to see her absolutely surrounded by people picking up their pre-orders and various goodies.

Our very own community member commodorerob has been running a fantastic and very small scale Naval Warfare game which has gathered quite a crowd.

The Perrys are here showing off some typically glorious 3ups of upcoming releases. On display are British Infantrymen from the Sudan and the First Boer War, and French Infantrymen from the Agincourt to Orleans range.

As if 4Ground couldn't impress us enough they've also provided us with a look at their amazing Watchtower that would be great for the Fabled Realms range...

Beware the Cylons coming your way as this space battle game by Ground Zero and Mechworld shows off the rules for their Full Thrust game...

4Ground are showing off two new buildings on their Urban Zone table. The H-shaped Arcade building is on sale at the show, the other is a sneak peek prototype of a four-wide building that doesn't even have a name yet!

See what you think of this amazing table for Battlegroup which features an amazing destroyed urban landscape and plenty of Rural fighting too...

We reckon that these birds from Blight Wheel Miniatures must be perfect for some kind of Pulpy/Steampunk wargame where you've potentially traveled back in time to some Prehistoric landscape!

4Ground have been impressing with their range of Arabic/Crusade era terrain and it's only going to get better we reckon!

Battlefoam have been protecting our miniatures and more for years now and they're still coming out with cool products.

Rob, Mick, Mark and Graham from 'Ardhamma (that's Geordie for Oldhammer for the uninitiated) play a seriously impressive 'display game' of Warhammer Fantasy using the third edition rules.

They like to "keep the board alive" by having mini skirmishes going on across the whole battlefield. Their philosophy is never throw away your old rules!

The future and past are threatened by the coming of Terminators to the tabletop thanks to River Horse. Don't forget you can get yourself a copy of Kyle Reese here at Salute...

We had to battle the crowds in order to speak to the Guild Ball guys as they show off what's left of their stock!

Matt Hart explained the concept as being a "perfect second game," being easy to learn with a lot of strategies to uncover.

If you wanted to pick up some Dark Age Undead then you can check out the Revenants from Gripping Beast that will here at Salute...

It might still be hard to get your hands on the game itself but the Prodos guys have bought along some amazing miniatures from the Alien Vs Predator game to show off...

Check out this neat modern warfare rules set from Too Fat Lardies which takes the core model of Chain of Command and adds something new to it.

As well as a great big table for Warzone: Resurrection there's of course a range of their miniatures for sale too.

Ian Brumby from Fenris Games tells us that Runequest and D&D are the worlds that inspire them to make their weird and wonderful miniatures, as well as the more conventional Vikings and Greeks and their range of Cthulu characters.

4Ground have built some impressive looking Adobe Buildings worthy of a Middle-Eastern SAGA board and also a new range of Trees!

Ben from Frothers Unite forum built this amazing, multi levelled gaming board for their fantasy dungeon crawl game using their custom rule set.

Check out those mushroom men lurking in the tunnels beneath the castle!
