The Flood Gates Are Open On Painting Competition Entries

The rush is on, to get entries out of their carry cases and boxes, quick fixes and touch ups done before entering them into their categories.

And if all of the changes were not enough, they have also reintroducing third place awards this year, as sometimes the cut between finalist and second place is a painful judging decision and we have listened to our previous years feedback to amend this.

Judging criteria has also been reviewed and refined (and published), as always the team of 8 judges maintain an objective decision making process, and oversee the very subjective nature of an art competition across various scales and styles.

This year has been a step change on the last two, more finalists pulled out than ever, and judging is taking forever, looking for the smallest of differences in each entry to decide which deserve the ultimate accolade.

Here is a quick shot of all the category finalists, with a couple of closer looks. More to come from the winners soon...

All good, didn’t like it banking side to side… or the two attempts at landing.

Just imagine you’re in a rollercoaster 😉
Besides …
any landing you can walk away from is a good one 😀

So I’m placing this comment with false hope that for first time in life I’ll actually win something in a lottery. Feel free to prove me that aint gonna happend.

Is this a bit like the British version of Adepticon?

Kinda of but much different. Think of the vendor area at Adepticon but 10 times bigger. Throw in full size demo tables in between in the aisles. That is Salute, no tournaments or big games. Mostly sales. It is an amazing experience and we really enjoy it. We are really sad we are not this year. It is worth the trip from the States. The Backstage meet up is always a great time. I highly recommend it to anyone.
