We're kicking off today looking at the Imperials so far and plans for the Rebels going forward.
Overall I'm super happy with how the Stormtroopers look and I think on the tabletop they are going to be really striking.
I've decided to keep the bases a dark grey to keep the figures neat and avoids the black disappearing into the bases when looking from above.
For the Rebels I decided to do a test miniature to make sure I can break up for brown and khaki with a bit of colour.
What do you think of how the Rebels will look from above, and indeed behind, when playing with them on the tabletop?

John, did you do a conversion on the DLT carrying trooper in the back row?
If so was it easy to do?
Nope. I haven’t done a thing.
I am wondering how many people are going to play the Empire if nothing else because of how quick it is to batch paint Stormtroopers. Everything looks good. I am seeing several painting channels going with the desert scheme on the rebels and not the green camo designs as seen in RotJ.
I think they are looking great, so ready to get my hands on my sets.
They look great, but please tell me those aren’t mould lines across the heads of the stormtroopers and scouts?!
For getting quick to the table I believe this is a good method. The gun metal on the weapons looks good.
Given all the models you have, is there also going to be a full 800pt battle filmed?
For me, I am going to look painting the rebels in the camo from Endor. I don’t remember the red band on the rebel troopers shown in any film so I am wondering if this is specific to box art.
The red was taken directly from the box art. I liked it just because of the vibrancy 🙂
there is nothing quite like seeing ranks of storm troopers, still the sexiest army in sci fi.
the method has worked brilliantly for the storm troopers.
personally i’d of gone with blue black for the rebels weapons though.
Must we see this guy’s face 5-6 times on the front page every day? Enough selfies.

The stormtroopers look good for a simple technique. I’ll definitely be giving that a go as I was worried about painting so much white.
The test rebel has come out well but I never like the look of a fully metallic gun, there’s something not quite right about it. How about a tan?
