Guards Of Traitor’s Toll Starter Set & More Pre-Orders Now Live
February 10, 2025 by brennon
Grey For Now Games are now taking pre-orders for their new Guards Of Traitor's Toll Starter Set, expansion and more. This is their brand new 28mm Fantasy skirmish game, following on from their work on World War II wargame 02 Hundred Hours and Samurai skirmishers, Test Of Honour.
Guards Of Traitor's Toll - Starter Set // Grey For Now Games
At the heart of the collection is the Guards Of Traitor's Toll Starter Set which you can pre-order right now ahead of a release in Late March. Guards Of Traitor's Toll is a semi-cooperative game for up to four players (with the expansion - more on that later). You will play a Guard Captain and their squad who have been tasked with making the most arrests and earning the most gold. You need to do all of this whilst not angering the Cityfolk with your antics.

You do all of this by patrolling the streets, chasing down and arresting rogues, sorcerers and cutthroats. All of that alongside uncovering deeper plots that threaten the city and its inhabitants. If only the populace knew what you were doing behind the scenes to keep them safe!
If you'd like to know more about the gameplay of Guards Of Traitor's Toll, Grey For Now Games put together a Gameplay Overview which you can download for free.

As well as all of the gubbins and such that you get inside the box to help you with playing the game, you'll also find a great mixture of new plastic miniatures thanks to the folks at Wargames Atlantic who produced the 28mm range for the game.
Cityfolk & City Guards // Guards Of Traitor's Toll
The Starter Set comes with thirty-six plastic miniatures representing twenty-four Cityfolk and twelve City Guards. All of the figures are multi-part so you can arm your Guards as you see fit and produce all manner of weird and wonderful characters to populate the streets of Traitor's Toll.
The complete breakdown of the Starter Set is...
- 36 Multi-part 28mm plastic figures:
- 24 Cityfolk
- 12 City Guards
- 112-page Rulebook
- Includes city map, background and story-driven linked campaign.
- 108 Gaming Cards
- 24 Recruitment cards
- 2 Identify cards
- 6 Trait cards
- 18 Plot cards
- 2 Major Plot cards
- 37 Secret cards
- 15 Advance cards
- 8 Custom Dice
- 1 D6
- 108 Counters
- 36 Dual Use Plastic Bases
This gives you everything for at least two players to get stuck into playing Guards Of Traitor's Toll. If you want to include more players then it is recommended that you pick up the Busy Streets Expansion.
Busy Streets Expansion
This expansion adds magical items, sergeants and patrons as well as a whole host of new Traits, Plots and Secrets for you to uncover. You also get the addition cards, counters, dice and figures for a third and fourth player to be included in your adventures

You will be able to pledge yourself to one of the great lords of the city which introduces bonus goals for you to achieve during gameplay. The experienced sergeants help to bolster your squad and will be helpful when undertaking those new jobs.
I could see this being a bit of a no-brainer for those who want to get into this game with their friends or as part of a club. I like the idea of getting a map out and plotting where all the mysterious goings-on happen around the city.
Launch Bundle
If you want to get all of the above then you can get yourself the Launch Bundle which features the Starter Set and Busy Streets plus a free Guardhouse Roster set and also the Drunken Dwarf!

This set would be a pretty perfect starting point for anyone wanting to throw their all into Guards Of Traitor's Toll, future-proofing them when it comes to a long-running campaign. As mentioned, you also get the Drunken Dwarf.
Drunken Dwarf // Guards Of Traitor's Toll
A special resin miniature to celebrate the launch of the game from Grey For Now Games. Deggrin is a resident of Traitor's Toll and an enthusiastic customer of its many taverns. I'm sure you'll run into him on your travels.
Are you tempted to dive in and get your hands on the Starter Set or perhaps more for Guards Of Traitor's Toll? With a real Discworld vibe to the game, it feels like a novel and intriguing concept for a miniatures game and I think it could be a lot of fun. It has been on my radar for a bit now and I think it could be worth diving in and giving this a go.
Are you going to be picking this up?

Love the idea and the minis. But I can’t justify yet another game in my shelf (or rather on my floor) that I’ll never play.
I’m all about “no new projects” these days but I may have to make an exception for this.
That’s a great price for a starter. I couldn’t really glean much from the teaser, except for the use of custom dice. I’ll want to watch some playthroughs I reckon.
They have a rules overview available for download on the pre-order page if you fancy reading through to get a feel of the game. There may be some games up on YouTube already – the rules were widely available to the community during development, doubt they will have changed too much for the final release
I can see this being like playing the ‘Watch’ from Discworld and I like to think that Terry Pratchett would approve.
Had a look at the website. £60 for the starter is pretty good for 36 minis and throwing in the expansion (for up to 4 players with another 24 minis) for an extra £45 very tempting…
Especially as I have Discworld RPG coming this year.
I want to see if I can adapt this for use with all the Judge Dredd miniatures I have. The basic theme of running around a crowded city arresting people seems to fit.
Ooooooh, that’s an idea! The Mongoose Dredd game was good but solo wasn’t viable with it. Definitely going to have to give it a try when the game arrives.
Can’t remember the last game I rushed to pre-order as soon as the email came in but I’m very excited to give this one a try. Thoroughly enjoyed the play test rules when I played them. I really like that, despite everyone going on an on about Discworld (nothing wrong with that obviously, all games are minis agnostic) they’ve made some great looking, characterful models. And as plastic kits! What a time to be alive. Cleared the decks to make sure this gets tackled as soon as it arrives.
Lovely set and I’m genuinely surprised how reasonable the basic set is priced at. Will likely pick this up
Yeah, I might give this a go…but I will be making it as Ankh-Morpork as possible
