Wargames Atlantic dropped a whole bunch of teasers, previews and more over the course of the last couple of days. There's so much in the works from these folks that it's sometimes hard to keep up! We start with a favourite announcement of mine and that's the next faction for Classic Fantasy Battles, the Dwarven Host!

Dwarven Host // Wargames Atlantic

This is the army set to go up against the Orc Horde that you can already snap up from Wargames Atlantic. It will come with a variety of units for you to build a significant force on the tabletop and it is once again split up into strips so you can easily assemble interesting regiments and pack out those bases in a dynamic fashion.

Testing of Classic Fantasy Battles' gameplay mechanics has also been going on in the Wargames Atlantic studio and the team aims to have the game out in late 2025. You can check out a snapshot of the playtesting HERE.

Dark Age Miniatures

Next up, we had an update on another big plastic set for those looking to bulk out your Dark Age armies for the likes of SAGA and maybe even the new Pillage! from Victrix Miniatures.

Dark Ages Army Builder Sprue // Wargames Atlantic

This set will feature forty-eight figures in the box with plenty of head options to turn them into Goths, Saxons or Franks. You will also get a decent mix of spears, swords and axes on the sprues so you can assemble a Dark Age horde without much bother.

This set will be coming out soon and should be a good backbone for any Dark Age force. It can probably be mixed and matched with other sets from Wargames Atlantic as well so you can figure out some interesting kitbashing opportunities for the set.

Post-Apocalypse Survivors

As well as the Historical and the Fantasy miniatures, we also got a peek at a new set of Survivors which could be perfect for those playing all manner of different post-apocalyptic games that might involve zombies, mutants or something else more terrifying!

Shattered Union Survivors // Wargames Atlantic

This joins the Pulp Adventures range and will be a versatile set alongside the zombies. Here are some of the initial miniatures, painted by Chris Hindmarsh, giving you an idea of the miniatures from the upcoming set. I sense a lot of folks using these for unique The Walking Dead: All Out War crews.

There was also a preview of a set of "Soccer Moms" for a range called Shattered Union but considering the date that the miniatures were announced on, I wouldn't put it past Wargames Atlantic pulling a few legs.

While I doubt that the set will actually be called Soccer Moms, I could see this being a fun new set of plastic miniatures that could be great for converting a collection for use in Pulp games. If the article were to be believed, the miniatures will be coming out as part of a plastic set alongside the Survivors above and some Modern Operators which would be very cool.

As pointed out on social media, the last April Fools from Wargames Atlantic was for the Foot Knights and they became a reality, so I would maybe put some stock in these images!

More also popped up in their previews, including news on the Chinese Warring States plastic miniatures and a band of Satyr Brutes who are going to be causing havoc in Fantasy wargames.
