Antediluvian Miniatures are expanding their collection of 28mm Medieval figures for you to use during your Wars Of The Bruce's and the English are being reinforced by both Crossbow and Spearmen sculpted by the fantastic Matt Bickley once again.

Wars Of The Bruce's English Crossbow // Antediluvian Miniatures

What I imagine to be the first pack is a set of four crossbowmen, in a range of poses, firing, loading, and cocking their weapons. I like that the miniatures are in a variety of poses so you've got a good sense of the action going on, which is perfect for skirmish games as well as full rank and file combat. I can just imagine them on the ramparts defending a castle from the rebellious forces of the Bruce!

But if you're not on a rampart then you'll need some stout bodies to keep the enemy from your crossbows and there are none better than those with the longest sticks, to that end there's also a set of spear on their way.

Wars Of The Bruce's English Spearmen // Antediluvian Miniatures

The four that have been featured are in two poses, with two advancing and two set, ready to receive a charge. We don't yet know if that means we'll see another four figures, so there are attacking and defending packs. Even if there aren't, they're fantastic looking figures for your English armies.

Wars Of The Bruce's English Spearmen // Antediluvian Miniatures

All of the figures are lightly armoured as befits the ranks of soldiery in the 14th century, quilted gambesons with chain coifs and a variety of helmets give a diverse look to the figures and will make some fantastic additions to the already existing range of spear and knights that Antediluvian make for the Scottish Wars of Independence. Of course if you don't fancy fighting the Bruces wars there's plenty of other conflicts in the late 13th and early 14th century to use them in instead. I can't wait to see what comes next from them for their Medieval range of figures.

What do you think of the Talented Mister Bickley?
