Warcradle Studios are adding a new dimension to their games of Armoured Clash with the inclusion of aircraft for the currently supported factions in this 10mm miniatures wargame. The Crown, Empire, Union and Enlightened all get themselves something new to help dominate the battlefield.

Leading the way is the Defiance Fighter which has been introduced into the mix for the Crown. This sister vehicle to the Doncaster is a deadly fighter and the Defiance will be defending the Crown on battlefields across the world.

Perhaps clashing with the Crown, the Empire also bring one of its deadly fighters into the mix in the form of the Doksuri.

The Doksuri is a tried and tested bit of engineering for the Empire. It boasts a flexible, light and durable fuselage making it more manoeuvrable when compared to the fighters of other Great Powers. The work that goes into these fighters means they aren't thrown away willy-nilly and the Empire deploy Doksuri to key battlefields to secure victory.

Next up, we're turning to the Union who are taking to the skies with the Corsair Fighter.

Speed was the name of the game when the Sarius Engineering Company began developing the Corsair in 1866. To this end, the pilots who clamber into these cockpits are full of fire and hotheadedness. The weapons crank things up to eleven with Liberty Gatling Cannons that tear apart infantry and lightly armoured targets easily. You'll find more than a few troops running for cover rather than following the orders of their officers when the Corsair is about.

Last but not least, we have the Scythe Drone for the Enlightened.

The Scythe Drones are the aerial support of the Covenant; lightweight, fast and replaceable. They streak across combat zones using their particle beams to atomise foes. They do also tend to explode when they are shot out of the sky so you could always turn these into kamikaze killers should things get desperate.

All of these miniatures will be coming to Armoured Clash later in March alongside a host of new rules which will stir things up for Armoured Clash generals. I think my favourite is the Defiance but I do have a soft spot for the Scythe Drone and it's slightly more alien design.

Enlightened Reinforcements

As well as the new flyers for Armoured Clash, there are also some reinforcement options for those diving into Armoured Clash as the Enlightened. You can get three new sets which give you boosters for the existing Enlightened options.

Wells Battlegroup Set - Armoured Clash

Wells Battlegroup Set // Armoured Clash

The Wells Battlegroup Set offers plenty of the elite options that you might find useful for the Enlightened if you already have one of the smaller sets for Armoured Clash. As you can see, it features the iconic Wells Super-Heavy Surveyor (may also be built as Horsell Super-Heavy Extractor).

The additional components within this set allow you to build...

  • 5x K9 Gun Dog Pack
  • 4x Heavy Construct Devastator Cohort
  • 2x Mars Battle Tripods (may also be built as Deimos Guardian Tripods or Phobos Assault Tripods)
  • 2x Europa Artillery Crawlers (may also be built as Enceladus Mortar Crawlers or Callisto Assault Gatherers)
  • 2x Sickle Gyro CAV Cohort

It's always nice to have more of these options to help "level up" your Enlightened army. Adding more of the Mars Battle Tripods and Europa Artillery Crawlers feels particularly delicious and deadly.

In addition to the Wells Battlegroup Set, there are also two big packs with the Enlightened Armoured Regiment and the Enlightened Infantry Regiment.

Enlightened Armoured Regiment - Armoured Clash

The Armoured Regiment comes with...

  • 2x Sickle Gyro CAV Cohort

...so there are plenty of bonus armoured elements for your Enlightened forces. I love the idea of having a particularly Battle Tripod-heavy force! It could be quite the war of the worlds at that point.

Enlightened Infantry Regiment - Armoured Clash

Inside this particular set, you have access to...

  • 8x Citizen-Soldier Contingent
  • 4x Brute Enforcer Cohort
  • 4x Brute Warden Cohort
  • 4x Mono CAV Cohort
  • 4x Strider CAV Cohort
  • 4x Hellion Cohort
  • 5x Seeker Outrider Cohort

...so a good way for you to build up the core of your army that will be holding your objectives and doing a lot of the grunt/drone work in securing the battlefield. This gives you plenty of new ways for you to build up your Armoured Clash Enlightened forces and take them in different directions depending on the enemy that you're facing.

Are you going to be scooping up these Enlightened miniatures or those flyers?
