The Last Of Us by dugthefug1644

We start off this week with a look at the work of dugthefug1644 who has been delving into the post-apocalyptic world of The Last Of Us. Taking some figures from the Hasslefree Miniatures collection, they have started to work on some great bits and pieces for a great little diorama.

The Last Of Us #1 by dugthefug1644

First up, we have the characters of Joel and Ellie painted up from Hasslefree Miniatures. I think that dugthefug1644 has done a superb job on these miniatures, getting across the awesome worn nature of their jeans and shirts. All the little micro-details on the characters turned out nicely and a great start for this diorama.

As well as the characters of Joel and Ellie, dugthefug1644 has also been working on a range of Clickers from The Last Of Us. These fungus-fuelled "zombies" are unique in their look and feel and so bits and pieces have been used alongside Warlord Games zombies to bring them to life.

The Last Of Us #3 by dugthefug1644

As is the way with all of dugthefug1644's work, they tend to weave lots of little stories into their projects and that's certainly the case here with some of the Clickers. For example, this person was once quite high up in society but has met the same fate as so many in the world of The Last Of Us.

As you can see, plenty of miniatures are coming together for this fun little diorama. I like that dugthefug1644 has been having plenty of fun working on this and doing a smaller, more self-contained project.

The Last Of Us #2 by dugthefug1644

I am eager to see more of this project from dugthefug1644 as they start to work on assembling all of the miniatures and the terrain into a finished piece. There are plenty of smaller, fun, projects that I would like to put together and maybe a diorama is a solid idea for that.

Star Wars: Shatterpoint by jeffersonpowers

Next up, we're having a look at a bit of gameplay. jeffersonpowers has been playing some games of Star Wars: Shatterpoint and started putting together some battle report posts on their project highlighting the fun they have been having with the game.

Star Wars Shatterpoint #1 by jeffersonpowers

The project was born from the idea that jeffersonpowers is now a tournament-level player and whilst they follow the "meta", they play strictly for fun so the lists they built have all been themed around characters their TV shows and movies. As they said, this is a good excuse for a grown man to play with Star Wars toys and love that.

Star Wars Shatterpoint #2 by jeffersonpowers

With that in mind, jeffersonpowers put together a great adventure using Shatterpoint where Lando and Hondo go up against the Spectres! On the one side you have Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, Zeb Orrelios, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, and Chopper who will find themselves going up against Hondo, his lieutenant Gwarm, some Weequay Pirates, Lando, Lobot, and the Cloud City Wing Guard.

A bit of petty thievery has ended up in this scrap and as you can see, it has come together really nicely. I like the set-up and the intent behind the game that they have been playing. Mix in the addition of a really nice breakdown concerning how the battle report plays out and you've got the makings of a fun description of Shatterpoint in play.

There is a fun summary of the gameplay behind Shatterpoint here as well so if you're new to the game, you can find some thoughts on it here which might colour which direction you go with it.

Emperor's Children by guillotine

Last but not least, we've got some lovely painting from guillotine on this set of Emperor's Children Space Marines for use in Warhammer: The Horus Heresy.

The Horus Heresy #1 by guillotine

There work on these Emperor's Children is bloomin' gorgeous. I think the purple looks fantastic and I like all of the heightened detail that you get from guillotine's work. The painting on the power sword for the sergeant is fantastic with that crackling energy running down the blade.

The Horus Heresy #2 by guillotine

I also like that whilst these Emperor's Children have been painted as peerless warriors, they are still covered in scuffs and rents. The battle damage on these Space Marines is great and helps to tell the story of these warriors fighting almost constantly across different planets and in different environments.

The Horus Heresy #3 by guillotine

I also really like that guillotine took their TerrainFest project which they completed a few weeks ago and used that as the backdrop for their photos. It works really well and suits the industrial ruin that sits on the bases of these miniatures.
