Happy Sunday OTTers, CoGs and Backstagers!
More good info on Adepticonc and its great to hear it was a memorable trip. I might have to save up my pennies for a jaunt out there too.
it does look good, but I think I’d prefer to try to get to some 2 day tournaments closer to home, unless I specifically knew there was a seminar I wanted to get into.
That’s how to do a set of holiday snaps on the XLBS. I was also pleased to see the comments review is back, always interesting to see what has caught your attention amongst the discussions. Good to see the first few Spring Clean Challenge projects getting Golden Buttons, fantastic work on display and congrats to the winners. On the topic of shows that have a good feeling about them I can recommend going to whatever your local show is. Mine is Legionary in Exeter (10th May 2025) and although very small scale there are always participation games as well as… Read more »
Yeah, I reckon working a month behind gives people a chance to see the shows and comment even if life gets in the way
Those swappy head brushes look interesting.
“This is my brush. There are many like it but this is mine.”
😂👍
Adepticon sounds like an amazing experience. I have always shied away from Salute due to it’s scale and the fact it is a one day event. I recently began to question whether I should try it, despite the expense. The comments by @brennon about GenCon however have reinforced my feeling that tearing round desperately trying to extract value from an overwhelming experience over a few hours is more stress than reward for me personally.
I sign back up for Backstage and win Golden Butt-utt-Ting on the next XLBS? That’s spooky timing 😀
Much appreciated though folks – I’ve popped up an update to The Wolftime in Projects answering a few of the questions 😉

Happy Sunday, Adepticon does look cool and chillaxed.
Happy Sunday.
It’s great to have another community member on the show (both shows).
If I ever went to Adapticon (unlikely) I’d need to charter an extra aircraft to bring all of my stuff back. It would still probably be less expensive than current postage prices.
I’ve been going to GenCon the last few years and the best thing about it is being surrounded by 60,000 people who are just as into gaming as you are. It’s exhilarating. I schedule a few games and also give a lot of free time to just wander around because I guarantee you that you’ll find something you’ve never seen or heard of before. When you’re having lunch in the convention center you’re usually sharing a table with someone you don’t know. It’s incredibly easy to strike up a conversation and if they play a game you don’t they’re enthusiasm… Read more »
I’m currently building up a bunch of civilians for my MCP games atm. I picked up a bulk of 32mm architectural model people that fits in quite well. I’ll be posting my progress on these in the coming weeks so you all can see. I’m also looking into a way where I can build an AI “deck” so I can draw like a card or token to have them react to things around them. If anyone has any ideas or a ruleset that comes close to this approach I would love to check it out. Great discussion btw guys, glad… Read more »
Most excellent episode. The last time I was going to go to Adepticon .. was the year of Covid .. I had all my money together, friends together, the con was two weeks away and the con was Kiboshed .. Thankfully I have great memories of the First one I went to, and it was an amazing experience.
Really enjoyed this episode and hearing about Martin’s experience at Adepticon. Looking forward to making that trip myself someday!
+1 for Comments Corner as well.
That was fun thanks guys for having me on and thanks everyone for watching and commenting. Well done on the golden buttons, there is always great community creativity going on so they are well deserved. Adepticon was amazing and probably a one-time-only thing but glad we finally got it done after years of seeing and hearing about it.
Make sure you keep your mic safe. I tried looking it up. looks like it’s OOP XD
oh really, I have a few of them so hopefully good for a bit.
A great episode chaps. Thoroughly enjoyed, have adepticon on the list but looking forward to salute this weekend!
Yes I am also looking forward to Salute, it is always a highlight!
Wolsung. one of the best games ever written!
Agreed, great fun and my Alven Yard never really got the chance to stretch their legs.
I remember playing against your Alvenden Yard at the boot camp, you have inspired me to dig out my Wolsung collection!
That was a cracking weekend, great memories and a big reason why I loved the game.
