Happy Sunday peeps, Backstagers, CoGs and OTTers!
I was doing a project of epic scale starwars but hit a brick wall after doing the skullforge stuff. I still can’t find an ATAT
Have you checked eBay for micro machines ATAT’s ?
A game where Gundam models are fighting over Arnhem bridge would be cool. Would make a good project for one of the OTT team
One must have an umbrella!
Happy Sunday!
When the comment; Do you know what game they’re playing on it. First thing to pop into my head was; it would be hilarious if they planned a Flames of War game 😂 😂
Lol
Nope it’s a 28mm game and it’s not Bolt Action 🤣
😂 A Bridge Far Too Big
Please film this when you have finished. I grew up with my Grandparents, and my grandfather was at the battle of Arnham. So I grew up with a bridge too far and a painting of the battle at the bottom of the stairs.
I also get the comfort/nostalgia of world war 2 films. You shouldn’t, but the film of them just takes me back to a time when the world was simpler.
Hi @thursday, not sure we will be filming over the weekend but we do hope to take a load of photos so that we can do a battle report for the project system.
We’re going to be playing regular CoC, with an idea to play a linked table game of big CoC on the Sunday. 😳😂 We do have one slot open for a German player for the weekend (Fri 4th- Sun 6th April). So if you are in Northern Ireland and fancy defending the fatherland let either me or @commodorerob know. You would need to bring a platoon strength force with you, and we will have support options to help out if necessary. Unit type is not relevant, as the units involved in Op Market Garden were a very mixed bag so… Read more »
Excellent show lads loved the chat about hobby and how just to do what you like doing. I have found myself now following this mantra instead looking at your pile and going ..”i really need to get that done it been there to long”, brilliant really enjoyed this show.
Thanks @warzan, it’s not just me that drops small bits on floor. Not helped by fact that it’s generally grey plastic falling on grey carpet!
Though pretty sure that there is a small black hole on floor for no of bits that just disappear to te-appear weeks late.
And big Thanks to @warzan and John for help with terrain. Although I wasn’t involved in the planning for that. If my figures actually get to see it I may have won.
Happy Sunday. I always use little squares of paper and pva glue to cover the holes in bases. Once the basing material is on and it’s painted it’s quite sturdy. Been doing this for years. I found my interest in most things wargaming, including painting minis all but disappeared for the last four months. I build several Gundam models in the mean time but no painted miniatures. Last week I started painting again and I’m very much enjoying the process again. Sometimes we just need a break. Also, John’s Painting Gundam video was great and I look forward to more… Read more »
New phone, who dis? 00:00 The great happening 01:30 Light weight Warren. There is a bad joke in there but I’m too big of a man to aim for such a massiv target! But me too @warzan I can’t hand the beer can any more once it’s open XD Should we train more? 02:00 He fell and did a booboo 03:30 Last time I feel on my hand (Ice skating with my family) it took months to get good again. Age is really taking a piss on you when you hurt yourself. 05:30 The gripping beast 09:00 Too many bridges… Read more »
Texturing the road of the bridge could be done with 1mm cork sheet to lay down and pluck bits out for potholes.
In my Fallout project I made some roads with thin xps foam and cork sheet on top so I could carve into it. You might find the thickness of foam plus cork too much here.
Happy Sunday guys. I am very happy I am not the only one who drops small parts that completely disappear – only to be found years later.
Most of us who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s have a massive amount of nostalgia for Star Wars, but I don’t think it’s because of the films. It was the toys. The movies gave us enough to know who the characters were and what noises the blasters and spaceships made, but playing with those toys is what quite literally made Star Wars come alive. They were incredible tools to fuel and develop our imaginations. When we remember loving Star Wars, what we’re really remembering is playing with those toys. Is it any wonder we’re still so captivated by… Read more »
Definitely the toys! Every birthday, every Christmas – that’s what I got for years. I saw the first movie fall of 1977, so I literally grew up with them.
Right there with both of you!
@warzan 1/270 is basically 6mm. Check out Wakes Emporium if you haven’t already found them https://www.patreon.com/WakesEmporium?utm_campaign=creatorshare_fan
I’m in the middle of printing a lot of 8mm /10mm stuff and I’m finding the regular elegoo and sunlu abs like resins are wonderful and sturdy enough that they can take a bounce on the floor and still be in tact. You have to go with IPA for cleaning unfortunately but it is what it is if durability is what you want and you don’t want to spend a fortune.
Be interested to see how this journey goes for you
Having made a commitment this year to get “no new gaming systems” and ONLY work on and play systems and product I already own, I can say I have felt a troubling weight that I was becoming aware of at the end of last year, lifted from my shoulders. I find it a morally difficult thing to advocate for in some respects as I want to see the industry flourish and new ideas to find their audience but I also don’t want people to be led down a path of purchasing products they never utilise or derive enjoyment from other… Read more »
