Lunar Wars from Telesis Games is now live on Gamefound as the team look to bring this excellent new Sci-Fi miniatures game to the tabletop. Featuring 45mm scale miniatures, some by the talented Bob Naismith, you can take to the Moon's surface and battle for supremacy.

Set against the backdrop of the second Lunar War, you will fight for minerals and more on the surface as either the US Astro Marines or the Russian Roscosmos Veterans. The focus of the game is on tactical, scenario-focused skirmishes where the fight between elite soldiers is just a facet of this Sci-Fi struggle.

Games of Lunar Wars are driven by event cards, which change the fortunes on the battlefield and reveal the shifting tides of lunar warfare. You'll also consult your National Advisors, who can bend fortunes in your favourite, adding another dimension to gameplay.  During the Tactical Command Phase, players recruit units from their bases or prepare them for stealth drops behind enemy lines.

Let's Talk Lunar Wars // Telesis Games

At the core of your games, beyond all the shooting and close-quarters combat, are Command Points. You can ramp up the pressure over the course of the game, recruiting troops and securing objectives but also using political pressure to bring espionage to the tabletop, sabotaging your enemy's war effort. You might even be able to introduce assassinations into the mix, taking out enemy advisors and shifting the balance of power in your favour.

You can even convert your Command Points into Victory Points, so if you've got a surplus, you can push your opponent to scramble in the hopes of evening the score. If you'd like to know more, you can check out the video above from Telesis Games, going through more details on the game and how it works.

Lunar Wars Miniatures

As well as an interesting set of game mechanics, Lunar Wars also features some absolutely stunning miniatures for the US Astro Marines and the Russian Roscosmos Veterans.

There is a really nice mixture of different miniatures across both factions. The US Astro Marines have a sleek, ultra-modern look to their designs, which takes the classic astronaut aesthetic and ratchets it up a notch. On the other side, you have the no-nonsense function over form focus of the Russian Roscosmos Veterans.

As well as loads of character miniatures and core troops, you can also get your hands on some great elite troops, walkers, vehicles and more that will help you change up your approach during each battle.

As mentioned, Bob Naismith has been working with the team at Telesis Games to bring these miniatures to life and you can see some of his stunning work throughout the collection. Again, if you'd like to know more, you can check out the Gamefound Campaign for more.

Pledge Options

When it comes to pledges, there are a couple of different options for you to choose from. You could go with the Core Box below, which comes with the basis of both factions alongside the rules and cards.

You can also crank things up all the way to the Grand Offensive pledge. This introduces a whole bunch of additional boxed sets with elite troops and more. This covers both factions so if you're really into Lunar Wars, this will give you plenty to be painting over the next few years.

There is also a halfway house pledge for individuals looking to dive into Lunar Wars and there is also a set of Retailer Pledges so you can get involved as a local store if you think this would work well with the gamers in your area.

Lunar Wars is a fascinating game concept. I like the effort that has gone into it already and I think the team at Telesis has managed to produce something fun that stands out on the tabletop. Make sure to check out Lunar Wars on Gamefound right now.
