YESSSSS @avernos !!!! I had that book and now no one believes it ever existed! That was a great story or maybe it was a novella because it took up the lion’s share of the book, but there were other stories in it also. Of course, they were less memorable and have faded from memory.
Perhaps they retconned it away because the characters were huge hulking Teutonic warriors who somehow were from a Native American culture. That made it hard to maintain immersion, and a lot of the story smacked of the white man liberating the exploited savages.
Great story though. Simpler times.
@avernos Might there be a Clash of Spears playthrough video in the near future? I think I have asked this before, so apologies, but I think that near future has arrived. Hope Warren feels better soon, but you mad rascals acquitted yourself admirably. I think I snapped a rib trying not to guffaw and wake my grandson this morning when I watched the first bit…although the plumbing references around breakfast leave something to be desired. Happy Sunday!
I think the chaps at fighting hedgehog said they were making a trip over to the UK next year. I presume once the rules are out
I look forward to that, but wasn’t expecting anything so formal. Gerry mentioned he had a game of Clash coming up shortly and I was hoping even an informal OTTer batrep would give the Hedgehog KS a little push. Appreciate the info!
Me and Gerry had a game on Saturday which you are maybe thinking of and he ran a game at OTT on Friday night last
I think we’re all still trying to get the rules right at present as for me anyway there was lots of staring at rulebooks and QRS sheets during the game
We have nothing filmed for it. Although I would love to get it on the tabletop I’m not sure if we will get the chance this side of Christmas. But never say never
Brill show, nice gifts there @dignity. I hope you finaly got @warzan that purple & glitter mankini that he’s always wanted ??
for lost lore, (opens the can of heresy) I WANT my 5th God back!! There is only Malal and his followers, including his great servant Kaleb Daark with dreadaxe! playing an army/warband of Malal was great, because you were definately against Chaos, but weren’t necessarily with any of the “good” factions. When Malal was removed, I gave up playing chaos! I have been tempted to get the Warcry band Corvus Cabal, do them up as the Malal followers and get the Hasslefree Malak the Burned (as Kaleb), & Dynamic Kalee, fit them both with the dreadaxe & shield option.
Malal being removed is probably the reason GW operates the way it does now.
Peebles down a mountain the first warning of a rockfall kind of thing
The Bretonnian Omnibus was fantastic. One bit of funny lore was in “Grail Knight” where the main Character who we follow from Knight Errant to Grail Knight is in Aleth Loren and comes across a little Forest Sprite who ends up getting some armour and a lance and just follows the Knight around being tiny Knight.
Marius Leitdorf is fantastic in the older FLuff.
Bugman and the destruction of his bRewery.
But best of all is Grom the Paunch
The Little obese Goblin that could, the guy invaded the Elven Homeland he’s awesome.
I mean a Goblin took over Nuln and just set it up as his personal Pleasure palace until Gork and Mork told him to go West.
https://www.beastsofwar.com/forums/topic/comedy-trivia-game/
I have an idea for a game. About 1000 comedy trivia questions prepared, but difficulty settling on a way of dragging it into a solid game. It’s not war gaming, but war gaming has helped me get a lot further along with the project. I love stand up comedy and the idea of working open mic spots in crummy venues and building up to your stadium bursting world tour events is something I feel people may also buy into. The road block in my head now is does the game need a party game joke telling aspect to appeal as a party game, or do i settle for a game that is slightly more focused towards trivia fans where the fun is testing your knowledge against your friends. Safe in the knowledge that your superior question answering is supported by a general theme of a comedy career, where progression and a competitive element against the other players (your fellow aspiring comics) generates banter around the table.
Cheers for the GB guys, @avernos on Cacophanix i based his top an off white, did the light blue crossed lines then dotted th darker bits, then thought i should lighten up the white so dotted that which is why it looks like its all been dotted on. I’ll be looking for that acrylic titanium white as i’ve always struggled with neat white lines.
I’ll get some Lloyd shots on!
Awesome work
great show, please try and fix Ben’s connection, he drops out every show and it’s getting a tad annoying now 🙂
I have a game in me. During the coverage of This War of Mine board game someone floated the idea of a pacifist miniatures game. I had some half-assed ideas, a lot of tables were required. I think those would be better as cards these days. Maybe I ought to revisit it.
Don’t forget to send Ben’s to him in the post – he doesn’t get out of Xmas homework!
@lloyd I recommend making transfers bigger than the shield, then put them on and cut them to size afterwards. It’s what I did in my Order of Heimdallr project. https://www.beastsofwar.com/project-entry/1415908/
