I’m… I’m.. HERE!
Hi guys. Interesting ideas about the game system. Just a point of clarification. in Bridge, the suits rank Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades in value. I think you have that wrong, Warren. But some nice ideas there
😀
I don’t think 3d printing will have a killer app to put it in every home. I think it has a similar user base as a Dremmell. Pretty much any rofessionals and hobbyists that use a Dremmell will have a use for a 3d printer.
Games not to play with non-English speakers: bingo. Slowly repeating each number over a torrent of “shitshitshit” in a French accent is an adrenaline ride too far. My grey hair began that day.
interesting. I agree with Lloyd that you may need a rulebook to follow it all.
Happy Tuesday Cogs – tis time for my weekly dose of Cogs Madness..:-)
@lloyd think of it like this. You get into Combat with a unit of 7 Infantry that has a BPC of 2.
In the rules of the game you would technically do this.
Draw a Car. Check Bases of the Unit, draw another card and repeat.
So for our example we would draw a card then check the BPC and if we’re under the limit we draw another and check it again then another and check it again until we exceed the limit then return the card and move on. We however as rational human beings can just reverse that and say well 7/2 rounded down is 3 so I’ll draw 3 but as a rules mechanic the difference is important.
@warzan I’m glad the minis arrived if you’ve got any questions just PM me. None of those minis are named Characters they’re all just generic, the British is the Irish 87th the Frogs are just generic bad guy French.
If I could make a recommendation on the overflow of wounds. What if you used a modified version of “Napoleon at War”?
In NaW a base of Infantry has 4 “Wounds” (this can be scaled up or down but we’ll get to that later) and so 4 hits kills one base but and overflows have a chance to kill but if they fail to kill then nothing happens, so bases don’t really have wounds they have “Hit Points” that never degrade.
Say you get hit with 7 hits. That would kill one base and then the three remaining hits would be subtracted from 7 and anything over that roll is a kill.
Basically one hit kills on a 6+, 2 hits on a 5+ and 3 hits on a 4+.
For bases with say 2 wounds you could have 2 hits kill, the the extra 1 hit needs a 5+. Maybe for 3 Wounds 3 hits kill and then roll a 6+ for 1 hit and 4+ for 2 hits? That way overflow wounds can still do some damage and aren’t wasted as much. It would also give weaker units a chance to take out stronger units even if they only get 2-3 hits on a 4 wound Cavalry unit they can still have a chance. If you fail the overflow wound roll then nothing happens.
I like that option for overflow wounds 🙂
I could base that on suits with an extra potential card draw
Heck you could pay an action point to make the draw! – so you invest somthing
That’s a good game ya got going there, I’ve nicked some ideas already! ;p
