I am curious about people talking about toxic communities in regards to whether it is online or in person?

I find negative comments and attitudes are usually found online and in my experience the people who have something negative or nasty to say are the loudest. Or do you come across it in your store or club? Are those folk just repeating what they have read and being a terrible echo chamber?

I have almost never came across a really toxic community in person and I have been gaming for 30 years, but maybe I have been lucky.

Tournament players and attitudes seem to be a common reason given above for falling out with a game which is unfortunate. I find tournaments the most social way to play any game, playing people you don’t get to play often or ever during a day where you get to play multiple games. I love it.

On the flip side I have friends who say they play games socially but only ever play the same 4 or 5 people and have done so for years even though they play in a club where at least 50 people play every week.
