You can use any bases, I use four on a 50mm square base but it makes no odds really provided all use the same.

 

Units are 2 – 4 bases in size.

 

The card system is a favourite of mine with ‘Soldiers of God’ and ‘Maurice’ using card systems to really capture the period while being fast and exciting to play.
