@woldenspoons I do like the idea of loading excited little people up with a bunch of confectionary, but the problem here in Australia (Southern hemisphere so late Spring) is that with Halloween being late October and daylight saving commencing at the start of the month that it doesn’t get dark until well after 8, by which time most of the little people are in bed, so it’s not particularly atmospheric for the door-knockers… We could be hopeful and maybe suggest that an increase in the quantity of resources available from mining asteroids and remote planets means we would all play a little nicer together due to it being a time of plenty? Looking forward to pics of the KT terrain if you can manage it. 30 points for responses and 5 more for RHCP 🙂

@limburger yes from my understanding some of the original stories/lore around Saint Nicholas are pretty dark yo begin with; probably a product of the times which they came from.  I do love that poster though. Yes having seen the figure painting setup that @sundancer has I have been considering something similar. I did back a KS for a cork miniature holder a while back but haven’t used it yet – U seem to be in a bit of a rut of batch/chain painting rather than doing anything for more of a display piece. I really should mix things up a little as I do quite enjoy taking some time painting slowly. Is there anything in particular you are painting up at the moment?  Yes the Warlord store is a tempting/potentially expensive but still awesome place to visit. I’m telling myself I don’t need to start a French Indian war project until I get some other stuff finished. Are you looking at the Bolt Action goodies after the bootcamp? 40 points for responses.

@querion hope you enjoyed your holiday 🙂 Wow, those rail dioramas are just next level good – so much detail! Model rail enthusiasts always seem to be on their A-game, so many different techniques and styles used and everything looks photo-realistic. inspiring stuff, thanks for sharing 🙂 It appears  shall have to up my game for tabletop scenery by a long ways… Did the tables inspire you with regard to considering some terrain ideas? Miniature grips seem to be a popular response – I may need to have another look at the GW one. Yes, Australian beer companies spend a lot of money on marketing, but that was one of the more memorable ones… This was my favourite one form many many years ago, low budget and a simple idea …

@rayzryr Yes I view the historical roots and the current Halloween as different things, but both a part of the whole concept if that makes sense? Probably not, but still… Yes I saw the mold line remover as well and thought it seemed a bit frivolous, but if the reviews are positive maybe there is something to it? hadn’t considered the importance of maintaining traditions forma psychological perspective, especially when delving headlong into the unknown- valid point. Enjoy the time off with your daughter 🙂 Yes the rain has been quite epic in parts – we’ve only caught a little of it here but other areas need it more than us so that’s OK. 30 points for responses.

@mage nice to hear you are building up a tradition around halloween with your son 🙂 The Sub Zero costume does sound like a clever one – a nice balance between a recognisable detailed costume idea and having to spend 6 months building something to wear…. Re the AP dip I find that the life of the tins can be extended by thinning down/topping up with turpentine, brushing on or just pouring into another tin to top up. But yes, the dropper bottles are good and don’t have the varnish smell so can be used indoors. hadn’t considered architecture – another one to think about moving forward as building design would need to be based on environmental factors – would be interesting to see if any localised themes became recognisable or even if some of the aesthetics from present day were maintained in the future. Project bookmarked, will check it out shortly. Albionnicans look great, nice work on the bases too – enough differentiation to create visual interest without it being overly distracting or taking away form the rest of the model.
