Do love a good refight…
Playing with the original ORBAT and using troops there where there on the day (rather than cherry picking an elite army list) throws up some challenges that wargamers don’t usually experience these days. You can often play a refight and get totally different results than what happened on the day (for example refights of Waterloo have the French winning 9 times out of 10), proves our generalship is totally different or the rules are not that good at representing the tactics of the day 😀
Great to see two historical armies arrayed in all there glory, it used to be Salute was mainly tables of these historical games, but over the past 20 years things have moved more over to the sci-fi and fantasy genres for the display/participation games at the show.
