@unclejimmy both shows were new at that time and DS9 was willing to go places that TNG didn’t.
If B5 had been on a more reliable (and compatible schedule) I’d definitely would have watched that show.
Best thing was that they were making good use of CGI when TNG only ever had a few bits and re-hashed scenes.
Voltron (?) or whatever that alien was called in B5 was fun.
I watch too little tv as is to make getting a subscription to Netflix worth the money.
OTOH I’ve heard good things about some of the shows that are on there, but I’ve also seen the list of random shows and movies that get dropped for no reason other than someone else has an exclusive deal. *grrr*
However the major hurdle is that I’d have to use the Dutch Netflix … and last I heard it had not even a tenth of the content that our American brothers & sisters get.
If only tv-cable companies would allow me to pick my favourites without adding stupid stuff like Turkish tv I might reconsider.
@ceppie I think it is knowing him/her/it before the change is what makes it terrible. Didn’t get the impression that he/she/it/whatever was unhappy, but then I doubt it’d show on tv-series. I hope he/she/it is happy with the choices he made though.
I did see a demo for the new Fiasco boxed set on kickstarter and everyone was introducing themselves with a list of pronouns, because apparently it is wrong to call a woman ‘she/her/hers’ and a man ‘he/him/his’ …
Seriously, WTF ?
I really don’t get what the heck they’re worried about TBH. I’d say if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck it is a duck.(period)
If there’s any doubt then you either get a thick skin or stop dressing like the opposite of who you are.
