@dawfydd I read that, was a good book, it did put Dark Age into the lore, though to be honest it was very much a reset to the original concept way back when Battledroids( renamed Battletech) the original game came out. Mechs were rare, the infrastructure to build them was lacking etc.

Think its where you came in to the Universe, when it comes to Dark Age, most who found it via Mechwarrior have no problem with it, Its us old fuddies pre it that don’t bit like Star Trek OS and Next Gen.

Think the biggest problem with it was that it hamstrung the background post the Fed Com civil war. The Jihad had to happen and had to be as devastating as it was , it also slammed the door on a lot of loved characters and units.

They had to virtually destroy Wolfs Dragoons, kill  Jaimie Wolf, Kai Allard , Grey Death Legion etc
