My experience with FLGSs (in several countries I lived in or visited) is similar, foundation is pretty much always MTG + GW anything other is occasional/temporary.

I’m no expert in retail, but what I always appreciate in the store apart from figures/games I play is wide variety of hobby stuff, the more varied the better with a workshop or group hobby time from time to time. Other thing that I find nice in a store are gimmicks/gadgets (that you may buy to cheer yourself up after lost game 😉 ) something like bases, smaller terrain pieces, dice etc. those are quite universal and system agnostic.
