Yeah @mage.  Back in the day of third edition all of the codices were softback and went for around $30 to $40, from memory.

I used to buy them all as they were my introduction to the universe and there went as many coming out in a year, it was so cheap.

I think GW has really upped the velocity of release, in the first 2 weeks of January there are 2 AoS army books and 1 40K codex…

I don’t even spend as much as the BoS box price on groceries in a week.
