@crazyredcoat Thanks very much. I know that when I have a full force they’ll have a selection of camo’s, hopefully giving the idea that the German army at this time was just throwing whatever they had at defense. I’m going to try the more dazzle style on some Tigers next I think. Hopefully a bit like:
Very nice work on the Colonel.
@blinky465 Aye they’ll need some chipping next, then a varnish for decals, washes and bits.
To chip everything I just mix the base colour with some ivory and sponge that on. More ivory is quite stark so very good for edges, corners and hatches. Less ivory, closer to the base colour, can be used for lighter dings. Watered down slightly can be used to make nice scratches.
Then I go and fill the centres of some of the bigger scratches with an appropriate dark colour. If you want full grognard go find the right oxide primer used, easy mode is to just get a small brush and somthing like an ink or dark contrast paint, wildwood or the black one mixed with some sepia? and make little dots in a few chips.
Extra points if you want to put tiny dot or lines of a silver or gunmetal in the largest chips and scratches. Then play with some brown/orange rust streaks over top of the armour.
