@sundancer – would be interesting to see. Though I still think his criticism of HeroQuest, on the grounds of “the thing I had as a child are just better than the things you have as a child” is superficial and harsh.

Maybe it’s because I have a little sister more than 20 years younger than me, and she’s shamed me on more than one occasion for making this very argument myself. Stuff that was cool in the 80s wasn’t “better” than the remakes in the 2000s, just different. Aesthetically (and often, morally) different. I always argued they were better because they were original. More than once I’ve been made to eat my words!

The whole review video came down to “I don’t like the newer style of artwork, it wasn’t painted in oils so it’s crap but this old crappy thing that we all admit is actually it bit crap is really amazing, just because I don’t want to like the reboot” (it felt like the same argument was being used to compare “traditional” with digital sculpting.

 

Anyway, I only dropped in to say I’d been doing more hobby this weekend.

Not painting, as such. But adding to my diorama. So that counts, right?

It’s a light display. Of course, it’s LEDs. But it’s full-colour RGB LEDs.

And – to get the attention of @avernos – there’s also audio. Music even. But get this…. they’re synchronised.

Tomorrow I finalise and finish the “lighting rig” for my little Wildhearts diorama (https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1574184/?order=asc) and put it all together. With one extra little character, that none other than Ginger Wildheart himself asked if I could add!
