I think it’s too late, as the Pandora’s box has already been opened (with the introduction of Discord to the website). The issue being that the lines of communication are now “split” between the forums (no matter have responsive they are) and Discord.

They DO serve a similar purpose in that they allow the members to communicate with each other and post information about the hobby etc. I don’t think we can go back to the earlier days when we just had the forums (and we saw pretty brisk traffic day to day).

I thin the community HAS split to an extent, with most of the “grognards”/CoGs and probably the main contributors using Discord and the more casual and newer members using the forums. It’s a great shame as a lot of information/tips are “hidden” in Discord (when they would serve a greater good in the forums by drawing those new members more into the community as a whole).

But that’s just my tupence. I feel that no matter how responsive we make the forums (hardware/software), we’ll never get back to the days when the forums were the main focus for the communities communications (because it’s probably more over on Discord now). And those using Discord are used to it now (or just prefer using it vs the slower response times of the forums).
