I personally don’t see the point or need, one thing we don’t need is another communications platform unless the intention is to close this one and drive all traffic to the new. The community is already divided by Discord and non-Discord users so by adding another forum on top of this forum it is just a further divide.

I think if it were to happen then I would suggest looking at something hosted and easy to maintain so a SAAS/PAAS based product rather than IAAS/self-built/self-hosted because the site is already suffering from performance issues.

I also think things have moved on and whilst forums might be the engagement method of choice for those that have been around I don’t think it will help with engagement from a newer/younger audience which is what is needed… else it just the same voices over and over.
